Honestly one of the most beautiful stays I've had. From the moment you walk in, you can feel how much thought has gone into this place, from the layout, the finishes, the little details. Fresh flowers... everywhere, robes, the most comfortable bed. You walk in and immediately feel relaxed!

Julie and Tony were so helpful with recommendations and always just a text away if we needed anything.

The view over the orchard is stunning, and the sunsets stopped me in my tracks both evenings. The bedroom has a heat pump so you're genuinely cosy no matter the time of year, the bathroom is a great size with a strong hot shower, and the kitchen has everything you need to cook proper meals, the hot plate worked a dream and there's a BBQ outside too.

The outdoor bath is definitely a highlight, soaking under the stars, completely private and beautiful. One of those experiences you just don't want to end.

Bikes are available for guests and the coastal track into Te Awanga township is gorgeous. I rode down to the beach, stopped into a café, and explored the area. Beautiful cafés and wineries right on your doorstep. This region has so much to offer and two nights genuinely wasn't enough.

I'll absolutely be back!

Bird Watching

One of the most memorable parts of staying here is simply slowing down and soaking in the birdlife. Surrounded by rolling farmland and flourishing fruit orchards, the property is alive with native birds. Tūī fill the air with their distinctive calls, fantails flit effortlessly between the trees, while kārearea (New Zealand falcons) and kākā occasionally soar overhead. Whether you wander the quiet tracks around the property or settle in with a coffee on the deck, there's always something to watch. It's peaceful, restorative, and a beautiful reminder of just how connected this corner of Hawke's Bay is to nature.

Pixie Cafe Havelock North

After a morning of exploring, Pixie Café in Havelock North was the perfect place to recharge. The menu celebrates fresh, seasonal ingredients, with colourful smoothies and beautifully prepared dishes that taste just as good as they look. The avocado on toast was easily one of the best we've had—generously topped, full of flavour, and the perfect start to the day. The welcoming atmosphere and friendly service make it somewhere you'll happily linger over a second coffee. Whether you're after breakfast, brunch, or a healthy pick-me-up, Pixie is well worth adding to your itinerary.
