Tiger House Tranquility
Adventure in Havelock North, Hawke's Bay, NZ
Our stay at the Tiger House was nothing short of spectacular. From the plant-filled indoors, fitted out with quirky antique decor to the outdoor garden overlooking the open fields and the sunny east-coast ocean.
Tiger House is nestled in the hills a stone throw away from Havelock North, which is filled with artisan cafes, fresh farmers' produce and generals stores for your day-to-day needs. Perfect if you don’t want to venture far.
Our time here was spent lounging indoors during the mornings, making use of the well equiped kitchen, before heading out to explore the surrounding areas of Havelock North in the afternoons. The evenings were spent soaking in the outdoor bath and cozied up by the fireplace.
Tiger House is the perfect place to get away, unwind and base yourself from to explore the abundance of activities Hawkes Bay has to offer.

Things We Did
- Beach
- Café
- Walk
A short 15-minute drive over the picturesque rolling hills of Hawkes Bay brings you to the vast open space of Ocean Beach. The perfect place to spend a day reading your book in the sun, enjoying a picnic lunch and to cool off with a fresh swim.
We were told about OM Goodness by a friendly local retailer and decided to check it out. This was the perfect location for a quick and delicious lunch, with freshly baked goods and incredible coffees. The Vegan/GF-friendly desserts were to die for!
Being the tallest peak in Hawkes Bay, Te Mata Peak offers a view unlike any other in the region, on clear days even allowing you to see as far as Mount Ruapehu in the North-West. This is an easily accessible area with a paved road all the way to the top, or for those seeking a bit more of a challenge there are plenty of walking trails.
