There’s a kind of stillness here you don’t realise you’ve been craving… until you feel it.

Morning light spills softly across the paddocks, mist hangs low over the grass, and just beyond your fence line, our Highland cows move slowly and quietly — their presence calm, grounding, and unexpectedly beautiful to watch.

This is Highland Hideaway.

Our home, and a private working Highland cattle breeding property, tucked away in the heart of the Yarra Valley. For a little while, it becomes yours too.

Designed as a escape for two, this is a place to slow down, switch off, and reconnect. Your own secluded space awaits — a brand new luxury 24ft caravan with a king bed, barista-style coffee machine, and thoughtful comforts throughout.

Step outside and everything softens. Breathe in the fresh country air. Slip into the hot tub as the sun sets. Light the fire pit and sit close as the sky fills with stars. It’s quiet, it’s private… and it feels a world away from everything else.

If you’re travelling with little ones, you’re still very welcome here. A triple bunk is available, allowing us to comfortably accommodate families — while still holding onto that calm, intimate feeling that makes this place so special.

Each afternoon at 5pm, something truly special happens. Our Highland girls wander up to your fence line for their daily feeding — slow, gentle, and completely unbothered by the world.

You’ll have the chance to hand feed and softly pat them, sharing a peaceful, up-close connection that so many guests say becomes the highlight of their stay.

And the best part… it doesn’t end there.

Throughout your stay, you’re welcome to visit them whenever you like. Simply wander down to the fence line, ring the bell, and call them over — they know the routine and will come meandering across the paddock to meet you.

And if you want to take it a step further, you can book a Hug a Highland experience — stepping inside the paddock to spend dedicated time cuddling, brushing, and connecting with these beautiful animals in a way that feels both grounding and unforgettable.

this experience feels remote… like you’ve found your own little pocket of the world - Yet everything you could want is close by. Some of the Yarra Valley’s most loved wineries are just 15 minutes away, perfect for long, slow lunches. The Warrandyte River, local pubs, and cosy cafés are all within a short 10-minute drive — giving you the freedom to explore, then return to complete stillness.

This isn’t a styled stay — it’s real life on a working farm.
We live here. We raise our cattle here. You may see us quietly moving through the paddocks, caring for the herd that makes this place so special.
