Welcome to Wingana Homestead, located in the stunning Southern Highlands. Wingana is a special 20-acre Southern Highlands homestead where pink-sky sunsets paint Morton National Park gold, two fireplaces glow through cool Highlands evenings, and Highland Cows, kangaroos and wombats are your nearest neighbours. Spacious, warm and beautifully designed across two levels, with Bundanoon village just minutes from your door.
The Space
Welcome to Wingana Homestead. There are properties you stay at, and then there are properties that stay with you. Wingana Homestead is firmly the latter.
Set on 20 private acres with views stretching out across Morton National Park, this beautifully designed two-storey homestead has been built for the kind of stay where you arrive and leave wondering why you don't do this more often. The scale of the property is something you feel the moment you pull up - green rolling paddocks, established gardens, the quiet hum of the Southern Highlands, and not a neighbour in sight, with the exception of our local wildlife and birdsong.
Inside, the home offers two distinct living spaces, each with its own personality and its own fireplace. The formal lounge is elegant and warm, with a classic open fireplace framed by a beautiful stone surround - the kind of room made for a glass of red wine and a long conversation. The sun room is something else entirely. Windows wrapping around the room, on a clear day the light that pours through those windows is extraordinary. Herringbone timber floors underfoot, a large modular sofa you'll sink into and not want to leave, and uninterrupted views of the paddocks in every direction.
The dining room connects the two living spaces beautifully and has a generous timber table for the whole group, while the fully equipped kitchen handles everything from a big family breakfast to a proper dinner party spread with ease.
Step outside and the north-facing courtyard is perfect for long lunches - a large paved entertaining area with outdoor dining and the garden rolling out beyond it into open paddocks. On still evenings, this is where you'll want to be.
Upstairs, the fourth bedroom is its own private world - ideal for older kids or anyone who wants their own space away from the main floor.
Our bedding configuration is as follows:
Master Bedroom: 1x King Bed
Second Bedroom: 1x Queen Bed
Third Bedroom: 1x Queen Bed
Fourth Bedroom (upstairs): 2x Single Beds
The home also features ducted air conditioning, a washing machine and dryer, a dedicated workspace with WiFi and a Smart TV - everything you need to switch off, or keep working if you have to.
And then there's the wildlife. Wake up to kangaroos and wombats grazing across the paddocks, and head out to meet and feed our resident Highland Cows, who are every bit as charming as they look. It never gets old.
Bundanoon punches well above its weight for a village its size. Just a few minutes from Wingana, the town centre has a lovely collection of cafes, restaurants and boutique shops that feel genuinely local rather than touristy - the kind of place where the barista knows your order by day two.
For those who want to get outside, Bundanoon is one of the best bases in the Southern Highlands. Morton National Park is practically on your doorstep, with dramatic gorges, escarpment lookouts and the famous Glow Worm Glen - a short walk from the village that genuinely surprises people every time. The Highland walking trails are spectacular in autumn when the colours come through, and Fitzroy Falls and Budderoo National Park are both easy day trips.
The Southern Highlands more broadly is a region that rewards slow exploration. World-class cool-climate wineries, farm-direct produce, Berrima's historic village, the markets and restaurants of Bowral - there's always something worth discovering, and it never feels rushed.
Sydney is around 2 hours north and Canberra around 2 hours south. Wingana sits right in the middle of it all, with 20 acres of peace and quiet waiting for you at the end of every day out.

Welcome to Getawayz NSW. My name is James and I am the Managing Director!
Getawayz NSW was created by myself when I worked in the corporate world. There were so many times in my corporate life where I would be sitting at my desk thinking “just get me away”! I had a few investment properties that I had just put on Airbnb and I was being thanked almost every day for helping people with their dream holidays! I created spaces with love and detail. For me, it’s not only about the location but also about the space and the small touches. I thought there must have been a gap in the market for premium accommodation services with professionals that do not have time to share their beautiful homes.
My aim is to provide the most luxurious experiences for all my guests. From the moment they open the door, I want there to be a wow factor! Whether it be a bad day at work, months in lockdown over COVID-19, or anything in between with the struggles that the last 2 years have bought us, Getawayz NSW is a pun on “get me away” - but not just to anywhere, but to one of the best homes in NSW. Once you have stayed at one of my properties, I want the first thing to be is when you return home is wanting to book with Getawayz NSW again!
Getawayz NSW offers some of the most premium inner-city homes, beautiful country cottages, luxury eco-cabins to grand homesteads as well as some of NSW’s most gorgeous beach homes.
I (James, the Managing Director) have never been one to feel boxed in or be put in a box - I like to think outside the box! I wanted to create a brand that shows no matter what you are after in NSW, Getawayz will be able to give you a premium offering no matter what the area. Whether it’s beach, bush, or city life - we have the best homes available to offer!

Potters Pantry
After a big day out, we discovered a quiet little cafe in Bundanoon. Often we find places like this close after morning trade, but this spot was still open even as we arrived after 4pm. The kids were treated to some oversized cookies and the parents enjoyed a cheeky late afternoon coffee.

Bushwalking
A popular bushwalking and cycling destination in the picturesque Southern Highlands. The town of Bundanoon is located on the edge of Morton National Park making it the ideal place for bushwalking. Take in the spectacular wilderness and great walking trails.
Hike To Fairy Bower Falls
We parked at the Fairy Bower walking track car park for the quickest route down to the falls. The trail is steep in parts, with plenty of steps, but it’s worth the effort. Along the way, we passed through lush vegetation, with ferns, flowering shrubs, and wattle adding bursts of colour. The bird life was incredible—we even spotted a lyrebird near the base of the falls! The highlight was definitely the waterfall itself, where you can cool off with a refreshing ice-cold shower under the cascading water, so be sure to bring your swimmers!
Walk To Fairy Bower Falls
The descent is very steep; however, the walk itself is not very long. The path will lead you down to some small streams, but you can also view from the top platform.
Fairy Bower Falls
Starting at the Gambells Rest Picnic area or the Fairy Bower car park in the Morton National Park. The walks to the falls offer wonderful views of the waterfall and a picnic area. Don’t miss the view at Tooths Lookout. The walk is a one hour loop, medium to steep.
Bushwalk The Erith Coal Mine Trail In Morton National Park
A beautiful bushwalk in Morton National Park, the Erith Coal Mine Trail takes you to the old coal mine openings (no longer open, of course) and a stunning waterfall. Hop over the streams and make your way down to the bottom of the waterfall for a spot where the fairies must live.
