When you yearn for seclusion hidden away amidst nature, be lead down a path where at first you can barely see anything. Come further and the wonders start to reveal themselves. With each step you’ll leave the world further behind, a smile will break out, and the peace that is wanderlust will consume you. Then you’ll reach your sanctuary, private, secluded, immersed in the sounds of nature and surrounded by jaw dropping views. It’s then you’ll say to yourself - I want something just like this.
Step onto the sheltered deck and settle in at the handcrafted redwood table, carved from a single slab of locally sourced sequoia. Sip a glass of wine, as the birds welcome you with their songs and you slowly are mesmerised by the ever-changing landscape unfolding before you.
When inside you’ll want to just be embraced by the effortlessly comfortable bean bags that adjust to your every mood as you relax and refresh, streaming whatever takes your fancy. Or if you prefer, open all the doors and just let nature come inside.
And who says you can’t nap during the day? When you feel that a book, or even briefly closing your eyes is just the medicine to restore your soul, retreat to your own double hammock hanging gracefully in the shade of two trees, like nature intended it.
As evening approaches, create a dining experience to remember. Light the wood-fired pizza oven, prepare your favourite pizza and enjoy the simple pleasure of cooking outdoors while the sun sets across the valley.
Then, as darkness falls, settle into the super comfy Adirondack chairs in front of the outdoor cinema beneath a blanket of stars. Wrapped up beside the campfire toasting marshmallows, enjoy your favourite movie on the big screen with nothing but nature and you. It's a magical experience that guests often tell us becomes the highlight of their stay.
Finally, sink into crisp linen sheets and wake refreshed to sweeping views across the valley and the sounds of kookaburras and parrots telling you, ‘you’re in our home now.’

Growing up on a dairy farm in Sth Gippsland meant my upbringing was infused with a passion for nature and the freedom of being outdoors in wide open spaces. This passion crossed paths with my love of wine when in 1997 one balmy night January night lying under the stars in a secluded part of Healesville I knew that this was where I belonged. I eventually bought this property in 1998 and established a vineyard here while gradually moving out of city work and life. It is in my time here that I have appreciated what the Aboriginal people mean by having a spiritual connection with their land - the beauty of this place inspires me everyday and it gives me great pleasure sharing it with all of our guests.

Meet The Locals
In the heart of the Yarra Valley, Gruyere, is a land of rolling green hills, wineries, farms and friendly animal folk! On your drive in the area you are bound to find a beautiful myriad of furry friends to watch and maybe sneak a pat or two.
Exploring Badger Weir
Badger Weir is a great little spot to explore and go for a light walk. Fresh air, green trees, running creeks and fascinating mushrooms.
Coranderrk Drive
The Yarra Valley has some of the most beautiful scenic drives, and the Coranderrk drive is one of them. We drove through expansive green fern trees and towering Mountain Ashes to reach the charming Coranderrk Weir.
St Huberts
A beautiful setup in the yarra valley, perfect spot to unwind with some lunch and a glass of wine after a morning exploring the ranges
Jayden Ong Cellar Door
We visited winemaker Jayden Ong’s cellar door located just outside Healesville. Pro-tip, on weekends they offer up a delicious menu of the highest quality produce cooked over charcoal.
Payten Jones Wine Tasting
Plucked right out of the innercity trendy vibes of Brunswick, this epic little spot owned and run by a few of Healesville's locals offers an array of wines that taste as good as they look. A must-visit for any Wine-o checking out the region. With collaboration labels and art-work from people such as childhood memory and prolific artist Roland Harvy & a wine list that will have lovers of any assortment happy.
