Timboon Port Campbell Trail
The Timboon Bike Trail starts right in town and runs for just under 20 kilometres each way. We didn’t do the full ride, but it was such an enjoyable way to explore the area. The trail takes you through cow fields, forests, and parts of the Great Ocean Road Food Trail, so there are plenty of great places to stop along the way. The path is mostly gravel and dirt, so mountain bikes are best — road bikes might find it tricky in spots. You can also hire e-bikes in town, which is a good option if you’re planning to do the full route—a great way to get outdoors and see more of the region.
Whisky Tasting In Timboon
A definite highlight of our trip - is whisky tasting in Timboon! The friendly and knowledgeable staff were able to recommend some delicious Australian whiskies (and cocktails) to try, and even accommodated our puppy. The tasting platter was excellent and we even grabbed a bottle of local whisky on our way out.
Timboon Town Centre
A lovely spot to wander before starting the bike trail. We explored a few of the local stores. Milk and Honey Homewares was a favourite, and we grabbed a coffee from one of the nearby cafés. It’s a charming little town with plenty to see, and the perfect place to begin your ride or just enjoy a slow morning. The distillery is also a highlight (we've stopped there before!) and definitely worth the visit.
The Fat Cow Food Co
Our first stop in Timboon certainly did not disappoint! Delicious coffee and a relaxing and friendly atmosphere welcomed us into town. The food was amazing too and the perfect start to the day!
Ice Cream In Timboon
Just a short walk from the centre of town, we tried a selection of locally produced ice creams. There was even a puppy-friendly scoop for Beau! It was the perfect way to relax in the sunshine for our afternoon.
Timboon Rail Trail
Starting in the centre of Timboon town the Rail Trail runs 34km's to Camperdown via the former railway line. It’s around 5km of fairly easy riding through the scenic bush to the first historic trestle bridge then, pending your crew’s biking stamina, on to other dramatic crossings. Be sure to pack some drinks and supplies.
