There is the forest on one side, the orchard in front of the Verandah with views over the grassy paddocks on the other side. The Orchard Cottage is situated in idyllic and quiet surroundings close to Gembrook. There is only one cottage on Carinya Park to ensure privacy for its guests.

There are views over the newly established orchard, forest and the paddocks. The Yarra Valley wineries and the Dandenong Ranges attractions just add to the package.

The cottage has all the rustic charm of timber panelling and terracotta floor tiles downstairs. Upstairs you will find a rich mixture of jarrah and recycled hardwood flooring. And to keep the temperature under control you have the choice of enjoying the warmth and atmosphere of a Coonara log fire in winter, or keeping your cool thanks to the reverse cycle air conditioning in summer.

This was a beautiful little cottage with all the essentials - so comfortable and cosy for a weekend away, or longer. The setting was also so lovely - my partner and I really enjoyed exploring the forest out the back of the property and listening to all the beautiful wildlife. Thanks Walter!

Absolutely loved our stay at The Orchard Cottage! 😊 The cottage was incredibly cozy, warm and comfortable, and having the fireplace on made the experience even more relaxing. Everything was clean, pe...aceful and exactly what we were looking for.

The location was beautiful and surrounded by nature, making it the perfect place to switch off and recharge. Check-in was also super easy, with clear instructions and no issues at all.

We had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend The Orchard Cottage to friends. We really hope to come back again soon! ❤️

This short, easy yet rewarding walk to ship rock waterfall is a great way to burn off lunch. On a warm day there are even small swimming holes to cool off in, and extra long walking tracks through the nearby Kurt kiln park for the more adventurous.

Brunch At Spencers Store

A short walk from Gembrook station on the puffing billy line, Spencers is the best place in town for a coffee and a feed.
Set in a lovely old weatherboard building under a tree, it's a must do brekky spot

No country town is complete without a good friendly pub, and Gembrook's The Local is the perfect place to have a few pints on a Sunday afternoon. Complete with a FREE pool table, open fire, cheap drink specials and absolutely huge servings, be sure to nominate the designated driver early.

The Independent

An Argentinian restaurant in Gembrook recommended by our hosts Chris and Barry. The food, wine and service was next to none and really closed our trip with a great sense of fulfilment along with some full bellies.

Gembrook Bushland Park

Gembrook Bushland Park is a forest walk that allows you to see towering Mountain Ash and lush tree ferns. Look for wildlife including lyrebird living together with wombats, wallaby, echidna, possums and range of native birds. (10 minutes walk from B&B and about 5km return)

Eastern Dandenong Ranges Trail

The trail (10m from B&B) follows Puffing Billy line and links Gembrook to Cockatoo and Emerald. Bikes can be taken one way on the Puffing Billy train; or tailor your ride to suit your fitness. Views of farmland and forests.
