Margate - colourful boho cottage

A large split system heats and cools the house adequately and we provide portable heaters and a fan if you decide to close off the bedrooms for privacy. Fire wood for the lounge open fire is provided for nightly atmosphere during the cooler months

Filled with natural light the 3 bedrooms are generous in size, have ample storage and garden views. Two bedrooms have a double bed and access to the verandas and the third has a double bed and king single bed. Bamboo fibre doonas, hypo allergenic pillows and a trunk with extra bed coverings rugs etc will ensure you have a comfy sleep. All up a maximum of 7 people can be accommodated

The large country style kitchen is stocked with a range of organic teas, chai and coffee, oil, organic milks, local jams and basic spices Pots and pans, a rice cooker, toaster, perculator and electric jug along with a fridge freezer, electric stove/oven and microwave are available for you to use.

The bathroom is spacious and has a shower and sink but no bath The soaps provided are natural and vegan friendly. All linen including towels are provided. The toilet is in a separate room

The lounge is central in the house with a spacious layout and open fire. A comfy couch and chair, large cushions and French doors extending out to a verandah create a cosy ambience. Vintage board games, books and magazines, together with skittles, balls and tennis racquets for the local tennis courts will keep everyone of all ages entertained. There is a computer nook with charging facilities as well but you’ll need to hotspot with your phone as there is no WIFI access.

There are plenty of spaces for relaxing within the house and on the verandah extending out from lounge with a couch and chairs. A second verandah with a long banquet-style table and barbeque , is perfect for sharing any sized feast, lazy brunch or leisurely tipple. The garden is enclosed and spacious with outdoor benches and 2 wooden platforms and is abundant with bird life.

We provide a folder with details about Margate to ensure your stay is enjoyable and another with local information on activities in the valley. Car parking is on the property off the street but not under cover. You will have sole use of the property

Additional things to note when staying at Margate:
- No noisy events/ parties. Margate is located in a quiet friendly residential area and we ask that you respect this. Outside verandahs are not for use after 10pm - side verandah is 10pm and back verandah is 10.30pm
- No smoking in the house Smoking outside the house with use of provided ash trays
- The reverse cycle split system is to be operated on a maximum temperature of 23 degrees during winter months. Running at high temperatures does not make the unit work better during cold weather. In the event of the unit stopping working due to high temperatures being used, the repairs to the unit may fall back onto the guests.
- Some firewood is provided for your stay suitable for evening fires. If you required more firewood during your stay, you can purchase locally at the hardware store, or service stations.
- No pets - We have many birds frequenting our garden so it is not suitable to bring your pets
- Please do not feed the birds as they make a mess.
- All bedding and internal furniture to remain in the house and external furniture to remain on the property
