Mr Oak was designed to enjoy a quiet, relaxed, picturesque experience. The house is furnished in a blend of industrial and vintage finds however is simple and uncluttered. It is a honest and rustic space but that's why we love it and hope you will too.

It is located only a short walk down the hill to the river, shops and restaurants.

If you love simple stylish living you’ll love this gorgeous spot. A beautiful view, a gorgeous little house to make your weekend a treat.

Please note - There is NO BATH in the main house.

Thank you Lauren! Mr oak was such a nice place to stay. We loved the house and the studio was great with the bath. The view is really good and with the main strip a very short walk away it made things... so much easier to relax. My partner and I have already decided on coming back and staying for longer. This place is a 10/10 I highly recommend staying at mr oak.

Yarra River Walk

After breakfast we stretched our legs with an incredible little walk from Mr Oak, down to the water along some of the freshest sections of the Yarra River. From bridge to bridge at either end of Warburton is a 2.5km path that passes right by the centre of town should you need any supplies.

B T Dubs

Having spent quite a bit of time in Warburton over the years it surprised us to find yet another amazing breakfast spot. Located a 10 minute walk into the heart of Warburton B.T Dubs blew our minds with a super tasty take on the classic breakfast burger and an incredible shakshuka feast.
Bike Riding

Bike Riding

The O’Shannassy Trail is a 30 kilometre walking and bike-riding trail from East Warburton to Don Valley in the Upper Yarra Valley. The trail runs in alongside the Warburton Rail Trail, however, the O’Shannassy Trail is set into the mountain ranges, and provides a different viewpoint to the landscape. Surrounded by tall trees, and lush ferns, the trail follows the historic open channelled O’Shannassy Aqueduct, and allows for impressive views of the Yarra Valley.

La La Falls

Follow the track through tall Mountain Ash forest and lush ferny glades, to the picturesque La La Falls. The track has a moderate grade, which can be slightly challenging; allow 1.5 hours for a return trip. For a particularly impressive view, visit after heavy rainfall when the falls are at their most powerful.

The Flying Apron Patisserie

Located a 15-minute drive from Warburton in the neighbouring township of Wesburn is the kind of patisserie that quickly found its way onto our permanent pitstop list. Their Swiss trained pastry chef/magician makes some of the tastiest treats in the state. If you play your cards right and plan your road-trip pitstops to coincide with their operating hours (6am-2pm, Wednesday to Saturday) then one could theoretically stop on the way there and on the way back, just saying.

Rainforest Gallery

Located halfway up Mount Donna Buang this boardwalk and lookout offers a unique perspective with a 40-metre-long observation platform (one of only three of its kind in Australia). This platform takes you into the rainforest canopy 15 metres above the rainforest floor, where you pass by some magnificent 65-metre old growth Mountain Ash trees, ancient Myrtle Beech trees (many of which are 300 to 400 years old), ferns, mosses and other plants that make up this damp and diverse rainforest walk. The loop is only 350 meters long but has quite a few slippery stairs so I recommend wearing boots.
