Hounds Run Vineyard - Tiny House

Experience Tiny Living in our off grid Tiny House situated at the top of our vineyard at Hounds Run with spectacular 360 degree views of the Grampians, Black Range and Sugarloaf Hill. Lucy and Hadyn purchased the property in 2016 with the established, but neglected, vineyard. Hadyn is a winemaker for his label Black & Ginger Wines and Lucy is the Sales & Brand Manager. Guests can visit the Black & Ginger Wine Shed, their cellar door, in Pomonal to sample their wines. They love that they are able to share the beauty of Hounds Run with their guests. Lucy Born and raised in Melbourne but with weekly trips to a country property at Cape Liptrap in South Gippsland, I fostered a love of regional Victoria. Having graduated from RMIT with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Photography a then achieved a diploma of Graphic Design and Advertising. After university I decided it was time to explore the world, travelling across Asia and Europe for several years working in finance and advertising. Upon my return to Australia I took up the helm of the family business importing art and antiques from Japan and China. It was LOVE that brought me to Great Western when I met and fell in love with Hadyn, winemaker for our sister brand Black & Ginger Wines. Together we purchased a small vineyard in Great Western where we raised our fur babies Hunter, an Irish Wolfhound and Paddy, a greyhound x. Hunter sadly passed away in late September 2025 but Paddy still loves to greet our guests when they arrive. Hadyn Born and raised on a farm in Coleraine in Western Victoria proving the apple doesn't fall from the tree. After travelling around Australia on a family camping holiday the Black family decided to move to Perth. Hadyn spent his formative in Western Australia but moved back to Victoria in his 20's and began working at a fine wine merchant where he developed a passion for wine. Through this passion Hadyn took up studying viticulture and wine making and after a number of harvest seasons at different Victorian Wineries and two in Napa Valley, Hadyn landed a full time role at Best's Wines in Great Western. In 2015 Hadyn, along with his best mate Darcy, started his own wine label Black & Ginger Wines. Then in 2016 Lucy and Hadyn found their dream at Hounds Run. In April 2025, they took the leap and opened the Black & Ginger Wine Shed in Pomonal, where guests can sample and purchase a wide range of their wines. Hounds Run is the representation of their partnership, a love of wine, the country and a pair of adorable hounds. The Tiny House was born from the beauty of the property and a desire to share that beauty with guests.
