We had the most incredible time here! Was relaxing and the perfect place to unwind. Our dogs were super happy to have an enclosed space to run around freely and seeing all the cows were a highlight! Would highly recommend :)

We had a fabulous weekend at the Shack! Such a lovely spot and we loved all the birds, kangaroos, chooks and cows we got to see. So lovely to see a farm in the area where there are lots of old trees a...round as well as many little ones popping up.
The shack is in a perfect location close to both Grampians and The Little desert. Only 30 mins away from the Northern tip of the Grampians - where we did a fantastic hike. Unfortunately we ran out of time to make it to The Little desert, we will have to come back and do more exploring.
Thanks so much for having us, we will be back!

Horsham
1Listings
I arrived in Horsham as a backpacker from the UK in 1992. Thirty-two years later, my pack consists of an Aussie hubby (who I first met in Nepal in 1988), 5 kids (now in their 20s), a farm on 250 acres, and a fun-filled and idyllic lifestyle which I love to share.

Farm Life
If you're a bit obsessed with shaggy cows (aka Highland Cows) then this is the place for you! But there's also friendly Jersey cows, the Alpacas named Salt, Pepper & Herb, two cheeky ponies, chickens that take your scraps and give you back eggs, sweet dogs and more! This is one for the kids - including the big kids!

Adventures Nearby
Here are some details about the adventures nearby. Refer to the map for their location.
Walking The Wimmera River
There are kilometres of the Wimmera River to explore. Some directly bordering the farm and throughout the region. Areas along the Riverside section of the river and the Weir make for especially peaceful walks and, of course, they're dog friendly. Be sure to also check out the Framing the Wimmera - one of which features the River.
Murtoa Stick Shed
The National Heritage Listed Murtoa Stick Shed was built as an emergency grain store built during World War Two. Referred to ‘Cathedral of the Wimmera’ it's unmilled tall timber poles and history created a fascinating place to visit. And it's a dog-friendly attraction.
Bunjils Shelter
There are not too many areas of the Grampians that you can visit with dogs but Bunjil’s Shelter lies outside the protected National Park area and is very special for its Aboriginal history. At Bunjil’s Shelter you’ll find rock art that's thousands of years old and depicting Bunjil. It’s the only known rock art of Bunjil.
