Wilga Station offers a glorious new level of relaxed luxury just 3 hours from Sydney and Canberra. Just 12 minutes from the historic city of Bathurst and 40 minutes from Orange wine country, this 260-acre working sheep farm has been home to the Keith family for three generations.

The jewel in the crown is the unique Farmers Hut.  Perched on the highest vantage point of the property, the Farmers Hut has spectacular views across the valley and is surrounded by an abundance of wildflower meadows in warmer months. Forget about television, the cleverly designed three-sided window set day bed gives you a choice of stunning new channels: sunrise, sunset and star-filled skies.

It’s completely self-contained and suitable for singles or couples looking for a quiet, indulgent getaway.

Now with a gorgeous sunken outdoor bath and shower!

The owners have reused and repurposed as much material as possible from the farm to create a stay that is distinctively Australian with an easy-going sense of luxury.

Discreetly tucked away under its unique grass roof, the hut is 100% off-grid. It’s designed to maintain a comfortable temperature of between 16-24 degrees all year round. It features a wood fireplace, king size bed, kitchenette, designer bathroom and a sheltered BBQ area.

The Farmers Hut at Wilga Station is beautifully considered and full of character. The attention to detail made the stay effortless, from clear instructions to the hand-drawn map and small touches thro...ughout the hut. We woke to sheep bleating and spent our days wandering the property, taking in the rural views and spotting wildlife. The breakfast hamper set us up perfectly, and evenings were best spent cooking on the barbecue and watching the light change over the paddocks.

A peaceful, memorable stay that made slowing down feel easy.

It was great to stay at The Farmers Hut, such a luxurious experience with everything we could have wished for. We loved the sheep surrounding the house and couldn’t get enough of staring out of the wi...ndow with such incredible views. Hamish was a great host, he had prepared us a cheese platter with some sparkling wine and fresh bread and eggs from the farm. Highly recommended and we’d love to stay here again.

Down The Sheep Trail

Literally starting at the doorstep of the Farmers Hut, there is a narrow trail through the huge private farmland. It’s usually used by the resident sheep but also great for humans wanting to explore the farm. It goes all the way down to a creek which is great for a refreshing afternoon dip.

Natural Swimming Pond

Wilga Station's 12 million litre, natural swimming pond is exclusively available to Farm guests. With its pontoon and fountain, it's an easy 150m stroll from the Shearers Hall & Farmers Hut. The natural ecosystem is teeming with life, including Australian bass (for catch and release fishing!).

A lovely town with a few cellar doors, a providore and boutique shops. We enjoyed coffees and cakes at the Providore, then visited Tamburlaine Wines' cellar door for a tasting, eventually leaving with a box or two of wines to take home with us.

This charming, historic village has a lovely homewares store called Tomolly, an Italian restaurant and a pub. We spent the most time browsing through Tomolly – it's very well curated and is now one of our favourite stores.
