It is completely a different and refreshing experience. Two nights of stay in the tent, woken up by birds, we have had the best sleep ever. Although the flies are annoying, I guess that is the sacrifi...ce for a natural surroundings. All the animals are friendly and we have had the best welcoming breakfast we have ever had. Last but not least, it is a dog’s paradise. We brought our puppy with us and apparently he really enjoyed a good time. We would like to thank Sharon and her husband for being a caring and thoughtful host and we wish we can see each other soon in the near future!

Very nice hot shower and plenty of toilet. You have to walk for 3mins to reached the toilet otherwise, you can always bring your car. The kitchenette and power box is really helpful in charging and there is fridge and microwave. The best part, we have the whole farm for ourselves.

Sanctuary Keith Hateley Nature Walk

This walk begins in the picnic area, 10km south of Kiata. Keep watch for the abundant plant and bird life in this area, including the rarely sighted Malleefowl.

Little Desert National Park

In excess of 670 species of native plants have been identified in the National Park, representing about one fifth of Victoria's indigenous flora. The eastern area includes widespread heathlands, with banksia, tea-tree and sheoak, and beautiful spring flowering species. Explore woodlands of yellow and red gum and swamps and clay flats of melaleuca in the western area. The National Park has a number of sign posted walks, ranging from 30 minutes to three days duration.

Pink Lake

A short walk from the carpark off of the highway, this natural wonder is a sight to behold. Not one to miss.

Pink Lake

A few kilometers west of town, next to the Western Highway, you can find Pink Lake. This lake is easily viewed from the rest-stop beside the highway and you can walk down the path to the edge of the lake. As you walk along the path to the lake, you will see yellow gums, buloke trees and paperbarks, giving way to the smaller and very distinctive salt tolerant plants that grow in this unique environment. The pink colour of the water comes from a pigment secreted by microscopic algae.

Arkona Silo Art

Artist, Sam Bates, known as Smug, created this stunning homage to the Arkona tennis legend, Roley Klinge. While we were there, we bumped into a local who know Roley in real life!
