Glenlowren is a working farm with three unique accommodation offerings. You’ll have access to the entire property, excluding the surrounding areas of the other accommodations. You will have your own private piece of the expansive property in the Nissen Hut, along with access to your own private patio with sweeping views of our wetlands and rolling hills. We live in the main homestead on the property and are available if you need, but will give you space to enjoy Glenlowren in your own way. You’ll be captivated by the airy vaulted ceiling and warm interior of our magical Nissen Hut.

Additional Information

Offering accommodation for four people, the Hut has two spacious en-suite bedrooms and an exceptional lounge area. Bath in the spa bathroom, feel warm and cosy in front of the log fire and cook up a feast in the sleek modern kitchen.

Outside, the private landscaped garden and wetlands provide a peaceful haven. We invite you to stretch out, relax and enjoy the stillness.

Find your ease at Glenlowren, our tranquil home in the Yarra Valley. Breathe in the fresh air as you take a gentle stroll around our expansive property before stepping inside your warm and welcoming luxury accommodation. Kick off your gumboots and curl up with a good book and a glass of local wine. Sleep in your king-sized bed and wake up refreshed and ready to cook a full English breakfast with delicious produce straight from our farm, (when in season).

The property is ideally positioned for visiting the local attractions like wineries, galleries and nearby forest walks. Or you can simply stay put and mosey through our beautiful property. Glenlowren is a working farm, and alongside the landscaped gardens, you’ll discover veggie patches, fruit orchards, friendly cows, beehives, and an inquisitive sheep or two.

Both of us live on the beautiful property. We go above and beyond to provide you with everything you need, making sure every little detail of your stay is perfect. But we understand that you’re likely coming to Glenlowren to take some time out and relax, and we get that. That’s why we're happy for you to do your own thing, whether that be staying balled up by the fire with a good book and bottle of wine, or exploring the property and surrounding forest and attractions.

The Nissen Hut is privately located away from the main house on a 100 acre property. You will be left to your own to relax, but we are happy to have a chat if you so wish. We will stock up your fridge prior to your arrival, with a gourmet breakfast hamper for each night's stay, which you can prepare yourself at your own leisure.

The Yarra Valley is a visually inspiring and historical region with a passion for food and wine. It offers the pleasures of day spas, boutique art and craft, wineries, open gardens, a Chocolaterie, country style cafes and gourmet restaurants, as well as a variety of outdoor activities for both young and old. Glenlowren is just under an hour from Melbourne CBD and 60 minutes from Tullamarine airport.

The two closest Yarra Valley towns are Yarra Glen (10 minutes) and Healesville (12 minutes). Both have an eclectic range of eateries and many activities to choose from. I

To be able to enjoy the full benefit of that what the Valley has to offer, a car is essential. Parking is available on the property.

Our luxurious bedroom 2 features a split king bed, meaning that it can be made into two singles if preferred.

Please note that the Nissen Hut backs onto our stunning wetlands. Guests are asked to consider this when booking with children and note that all children must be supervised by an adult whilst exploring the area.

Please also note that no more than 4 people are to be at the Nissen Hut at any time.

The Nissen Hut cannot be booked for wedding day preparations that involve additional services like make-up artists, hairdressers, photographers and similar professionals.

If Bedroom 2 needs to be made up as two single beds, there will be a $30 surcharge.

A stunning peaceful haven set in the Yarra Valley. Comfortable, spacious, beautifully and thoughtfully furnished accommodation in the heart of nature. Lovely walks out of the door - the wineries, gin distillery, chocolatier and Healesville all nearby. A wonderful weekend! Thank you!

Twenty years ago, my husband and I decided to move from Melbourne to the Yarra Valley and we never looked back! The quiet and serene environment, we have found to be a draw card for many of our friends and visitors. We therefore decided to rebuild the dilapidated historic cottage into a striking bed and breakfast and self contained style accommodation, enabling us to open up the property and so share all its joys with those who want to take in and enjoy this type of setting. We derive great pleasure from this.

Discover the Tanglefoot Track, a scenic walk through the majestic Mountain Ash forest of the Toolangi State forest. The track, which leads you into fern gullies and cool, temperate rain forests, offers a magical experience for visitors. The track is 9km one way, taking about 3 hours.

Toolangi Forest Drive

Toolangi State Forest is enormous with an array of different hikes, walks and lookouts. We drove around the entire park, stopping to take in nature and observe the early sunlight through the enormous trees. This is a gravel track but is easily accessible in a Sedan.

Wirrawilla Rainforest Walk

This nature walk has been designed to be accessible to anyone. The entire walk is submersed in the forest and has bridges and platforms that run across its entirety. It is pram and wheelchair friendly. Stop, listen and take in the sounds of the forest and running water all around you.

Kalatha Giant Tree Walk

Witness the largest mountain ash tree that withstood the great fires that impacted the local region. It spans 16 meters in diameter and you can fit a fully grown person inside of it. Incredible.

Mt Toolebewong

Mt Toolebewong is a peak at the western end of the Donna Buang Massif, 55 km east of Melbourne. It is within the Yarra Ranges National Park, overlooking the wine growing areas of the Yarra Valley. The summit is at 744 m, snow covered in winter. The views from the high points across the Yarra Valley towards Melbourne and beyond are outstanding.
