Grain Store Cottage - enjoy peace and quiet and fresh country air

Valdara has two types of accommodation – the Guest House & the Rustic Woolshed
Your hosts provide self check in instructions via email no later than 24 hours before your arrival, from our past experiences a lot of guests like the additional privacy, peace and serenity for the Valdara get away.
Fully self- contained guest house – sleeps a couple - equipped with a pot belly fire to keep you warm in the winter (firewood is provided) if you like the open fire atmosphere, we kindly request that you turn off the HVAC when not in the cottage. It is very cozy approx 25 sq metre plus the self contained bathroom. We provide a mosquito net over the bed in case those pesty bugs are around and there is also mosie coils and bug repellent if needed. Remember we are in the country, so there might be moths, bugs and of course weather dependent there will be mud and dust.
In the fridge we will leave a bottle of drinking water. We do not suggest you drink the tap water, but boiled for tea and coffee is ok.
The kitchenette is equipped with microwave, fridge, gas cook top, pots, pans, dishware and glassware. Basic cooking ingredients – oil, salt, pepper, sugar, tea, coffee, long life milk. There is a charcoal bbq on the deck (please check fire regulations) charcoal is available in Beaufort for purchase

We are very grateful for our wonderful natural environment we live in and ask our guests to please respect it whilst visiting, water is liquid gold so if you can be conscious of your usage. We re cycle, kitchen scraps go to the chickens, and the rubbish is sorted to rubbish and re cycle (glass separate) it would be greatly appreciated if you can leave your rubbish accordingly. Valdara requests that no smoking inside the buildings. There is a selection of vintage board games in the guest house dresser.

Valdara's water comes from a local bore at the base of Mt Cole, it is not chlorinated so we provide water for cooking, we wash all our linens with detergent and disinfectants however sometimes the water leaves a brown stain on our white linens.


When wandering around the farm, please shut the gates behind you.

Valdara supplies a bottle of water, a selection of tea bags, instant coffee, long life milk, sugar, Salt / Pepper cooking oil.

The Cyril Callister Museum (the man who invented Vegemite) is open Wednesday to Saturday 10am to 2pm with a cafe that sell's Vegemite inspired treats sweet and savoury

If you have Vodafone or Telstra you should get good coverage here, we are not sure about the other suppliers.

Pillows and mattress's are a very personal choice, we have been lucky to make 95% of our guests happy with what we offer but unfortunately you cannot please everyone.
