Surrounding areas are incredible and we adored Halls Gap. Unfortunately, the cabin itself was quite the let down. Deep spring clean needed, BBQ was dirty and not cleaned from previous use as well as p...ots and pans etc inside.
Pack firewood as it isn’t supplied for the fire or bath tub - we would’ve had to go back into town to get some once we arrived so we skipped it for the first night.
There are rats in the walls especially above the bed up top, a few sleepless nights with loud thumping and scratching throughout the cabin. They’re also outside while we soaked in the tub - wasn’t addressed by owners. We love the wildlife just not the pests!
Although, we were refunded our cleaning fee, it doesn’t cover the disappointment of having an overpriced cabin with minimal care and not the glamorous cabin we were promised through the description.
Off grid living is usually our favourite kind of getaway. We really love the outdoors and camping so next time we may just opt for that!
The owners are responsive and helpful yet didn’t address the main pest issue and compensate for it.
We enjoyed the outdoors of the property and the fire was great, the cabin needs some TLC.
We’ll definitely be returning to the Grampians just to a fairly priced location with all that is described.

We stayed here for our mini-moon after our wedding, and it was exactly what we needed - peaceful, private, and surrounded by wildlife. The outdoor hot tub was beautiful and heated up surprisingly quic...kly. Inside, there’s a microwave, small cooktop, and a large fridge, which made it easy to prepare simple meals. There are two beds, but we chose the one with the large window so we could fall asleep under the stars - which were incredibly visible at night. The bathroom was clean and aesthetic, and even the drop toilet didn’t smell.

At Wildlife Cabins we share a love and passion for our unique and beautiful Australian environment along with our magnificent native flora and fauna. With that in mind, we have decided to help our guests (that's you) go wild and reconnect with nature in luxurious style at one of the most captivating places on the planet - The Grampians region. How often do you choose to disconnect and just go wild? We bet your answer is "less than I should". Bathing in your personal wood-fired bath surrounded by nature, waking up admiring a 400 million-year-old mountain ridge from the warmth and comfort of your bed, enjoying breakfast listening to kookaburras laughing at their dreams, or meditatively counting stars before drifting off to a peaceful sleep? You can do all of this and more, in style and luxurious comfort, when you're our guest at Wild Life Cabins. Your hosts, Shane and Olga

Wildlife Watching

You don't have to look too hard to spot kangaroos, emus, and lots of beautiful birds. You'll be able to see them all around Halls Gap so be extra careful when driving your car. We found a lot of kangaroos and emus chilling on the drive down to Lake Bellfield.

We walked to the Pinnacle and as we walked the clouds started to clear and we were greeted with some amazing light breaking through the clouds as we reached the Pinnacle.

Pinnacles Hike

We hiked from the base to the top starting out at Halls Gap Caravan Park. The Pinnacles Hike was the most challenging hike we did over the weekend and it's not for the faint-hearted. With 9.6 km of undulating terrain, we did the return in just over 5 hours and we can safely say it was worth every minute with the incredible views along the way and getting a well-earned rest at the top looking over the Grampians. If a 5 hour hike isn't your thing you can drive to the Sundial Car Park and walk 2.1 km to the Pinnacles which is just 1 hour 30 return.

Pinnacle Lookout

This iconic lookout is one walk not to miss on you adventure in the Grampians. Choose from several walks varying in distance and difficulty. The 4.2km walk is perfect for keen hikers, wonder in awe at the precariously perched boulders as you climb towards the Grand Canyon, a smaller cousin of the American canyon. Arrive at The Pinnacle Lookout and appreciate the vast views of the Grampians. There are some steep, rocky sections, water crossings and rock hopping so take care and wear appropriate footwear.
