Cosy Weekend at the Surfstables

We ventured three hours north to get away from Sydney for a few days and little did we know, we instantly felt at home at this incredibly cosy cabin called Surfstables. Surfstables is rustic, barn-style cabin located at Smiths Lake, just around the corner from Seal Rocks and three beautiful surf beaches.

The cabin had so much to offer, including a loft space that had its own movie cinema and was perfect for reading or playing music. There was also a cosy fireplace that kept us warm and dry throughout our stay. It was fairly wet and stormy during our time at Surfstables, however we had plenty to keep us occupied with. We spent the mornings indulging in scones and coffee at Frothy Coffee then tried out the local surf breaks and explored the nearby national park and coastal walks.

Despite the rain, we saw so much beautiful scenery including a pod of dolphins that swam alongside us in the surf. In the evenings, we would get back to the cabin and light the fire and start cooking. The outdoor space was perfect for hosting friends and relaxing by the campfire. We look forward to coming back here again soon.

Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse is just a short walk or drive from Seal Rocks. We walked up to the lighthouse after a really nice surf around the corner. We saw dolphins swimming and pelicans fishing from the headland. Despite the rain, it was very peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed every minute of it....
