A Truck Retreat in Native Bushland

We were ready to leave the hustle & bustle of Melbourne behind to drive along the famous tree-lined Yarra Valley roads. Before arriving at our weekend Tree Truck, we stopped by Coranderrk Creek to listen to the soothing sound of flowing water and admire the lush ferneries. It was breathtaking.

We also decided to do one last stop by the Yarra Valley Dairy to get some tasty delicacies. Just because “The secret ingredient is always cheese”. Recharged already, and packed with treats, we reached our destination - a tiny home truck hidden in the native Australian bush. We settled in with a cup of hot tea on the deck with awe views of the towering trees. When you're in the stillness of a forest, you do not have to make any effort, you forget about your worries and simply reconnect with nature.

This Tree Truck is the perfect spot to slow down, and we therefore decided to stay the whole day enjoying this creative space. We enjoyed daydreaming on the deck, cooking delicious meals on the BBQ, and wandering through the properties walking tracks.

We woke up the next morning, perched up on the bed with sweeping views over the treetops, ready to explore the surrounding area and the Maroondah Reservoir. This special Tree Truck retreat left us feeling rejuvenated and ready to tackle another busy week. We highly recommend this Riparide for anyone looking for a quirky base to exlpore the Yarra Valley and Healesville.

This is probably one of the most magical rivers we have been to. This creek has an important Aboriginal significance and reveals a deep emotional connection. We stayed hours feeling the cold water running under our feet, having a warm cup of coffee while admiring the dense rainforest and reading books by the cascading creek.

The Yarra Valley has some of the most beautiful scenic drives, and the Coranderrk drive is one of them. We drove through expansive green fern trees and towering Mountain Ashes to reach the charming Coranderrk Weir.

We are usually not big fans of man-made lakes, but there is something magical at Maroondah Reservoir that we cannot explain. We enjoyed going for a quick walk and spending time admiring this picturesque lake and hills.

For us, nothing is better than Cheese! Therefore, Yarra Valley Dairy is a sort of heaven. You can come here to enjoy a platter or taste ones of Australia’s premium cheeses in the original 100-year-old milking shed.
