Wonderful Stay at The Barn!
Adventure in Bellingen, North Coast, NSW, AU
Our two-night stay at The Barn in Bellingen felt like stepping into a peaceful retreat. The light-filled studio welcomed us with its open, airy design, and the large deck became our favourite spot. Each morning, we practiced yoga as the sunlight filtered through the palms, and in the afternoons, we sipped drinks, soaking in the ambiance.
During the day, we wandered through the charming streets of Bellingen, just a short walk from The Barn. The town’s boutiques and cafes buzzed with a laid-back energy. We ventured further, driving through lush farmland that seemed to stretch endlessly, and cooled off with a refreshing dip in the river—a perfect blend of tranquility and adventure.
As the sun set, we found ourselves by the Bellinger River, watching the sky turn into a canvas of warm hues before heading to Bruno’s for a delicious dinner. One morning, we took a scenic 20-minute drive to the Urunga Boardwalk, strolling over the mangroves toward the beach, where the salty breeze and ocean views refreshed our senses.
Our hosts enriched the experience, offering thoughtful recommendations and fascinating stories about their local honey-making business. Their warmth and knowledge added a personal touch that made our departure feel like leaving friends. This stay was more than a getaway—it was a perfect blend of nature, relaxation, and local charm....

Things We Did
- Scenic Drive
- Walk
- Sunset
We took a leisurely scenic drive through rolling farmland, where friendly cows grazed near the roadside, offering curious glances as we passed. Along the way, we stopped at a charming country church, its weathered facade standing peacefully amid the green. Our journey ended with a refreshing dip by the river, the cool water providing the perfect escape to the heat....
We walked along the Urunga Lagoon Footbridge, a 1km pathway stretching through mangroves to the ocean. At low tide, we could see sandbanks and shallow pools scattered along the way. It was peaceful, with a gentle breeze and the sound of distant waves. While low tide offered its own unique view, I could imagine it being just as beautiful at high tide!...
As the sun set in the heart of Bellingen, we found ourselves at Lavender’s Bridge Park, a peaceful spot by the Bellinger River. The fading light cast a warm glow over the water and offered a perfect place to relax, with locals enjoying picnics and leisurely swims. The calm river, framed by the lush riverside landscape, created a serene backdrop, making it an ideal way to end the day....
