Slowing Down at The Honey Barn
Adventure in Clunes, North Coast, NSW, AU
Tucked into the lush Byron hinterland, The Honey Barn welcomed us with a gentle calm and earthy charm that immediately slowed our pace. Thoughtfully designed with timber tones, soft lighting, linen throws, and raw textures, it felt grounded and warm—like a space made to help you breathe deeper. The outdoor bathtub that quickly became a highlight.
Our first morning arrived with a light fog rolling through the valley. We ate breakfast on the deck—organic oats mix and herbal tea thoughtfully provided by our host—and let the stillness settle in around us.
Later that day, we drove into Bangalow for lunch at Woods, a relaxed, leafy café with vibrant food and a welcoming atmosphere. We lingered over our meal, enjoying the easy pace of the day.
The following morning, the sun returned and lit up the landscape. We headed to nearby Clunes, where we wandered through the charming Uncle Peter’s Bookshop, before taking a scenic drive through the hinterland. That afternoon, we found ourselves at Whian Whian Falls, swimming beneath the falls and basking in the golden afternoon light.
What we loved most about The Honey Barn was its quiet simplicity—the outdoor bath, the thoughtful design, the sense of space. It’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down, stay still, and reconnect. We left feeling lighter, softer, and already dreaming of our return.
