Pocket Paradise; a backyard treat!

In the bushland heart of leafy green Nillumbik we found an unexpected pocket of paradise; a serene little escape in the backyard of Hurstbridge Haven. With the rolling green hills surrounding and the call of kookaburras it was easy to settle into the serenity this property provides. Quickly finding ourselves poolside we dove into its crystal clear depths then watched the clouds pass between the tall palm trees as we lay floating amidst it all. The Bali hut was a perfect outdoor setting to take a break from the sun and enjoy the breeze through the palm fronds, knowing we'd be back later for a hot spa when the stars came out.

Retreating to our studio stay for an afternoon siesta we found a humble room with a full kitchen and an additional spacious sofa bed. The converted shed room has all you could need for a restful stay with cosy pillows, air conditioning and a menu of food offerings that you can order directly to your room - or poolside if you prefer!

Hosts Tania and Richard are experts within the hospitality industry and with an onsite restaurant within their home you can be sure you'll be treated to culinary delights. Offering 'Flavour Journey' event evenings throughout the year, with full degustation menus or private dining options guests at Hurstbridge Haven are in for a treat!

Our weekend was spent exploring this beautiful region, with a wander through St Andrews market, a meander in the local vineyards and plenty of tasty local food offerings to keep the culinary theme of this stay flowing...
