The Forest House is a charming, light-filled tiny home nestled in serene surrounds beside a tranquil dam and abundant wildlife. I found it to be the ultimate nature escape - a place where I could truly unwind, free from outside noise and the stresses of everyday life. The off-grid experience made me appreciate the beauty around me even more: simple, peaceful living paired with a luxuriously comfortable bed and all the essentials needed to cook, relax, and feel completely at ease!

My favourite moments were slow and simple - such as sipping coffee while gazing out the windows each morning, sitting by the dam with nibbles, enjoying a good book, and wandering around the property soaking it all in. With its outdoor fireplace, I can imagine this tiny house would be an amazing experience in the cooler months as well. The wildlife is plentiful and I was lucky enough to spot some beautiful kangaroos by the water before they bounded away.

Despite feeling incredibly private and secluded, The Forest House is also close to plenty of local gems - such as the stunning Alowyn Gardens (the perfect place for a stroll), the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie (with a huge range of chocolate, ice cream and superb views) and the Sugarloaf Reservoir (with a scenic hiking trail). Whether you choose to explore or simply stay in your own little haven, there’s no shortage of ways to enjoy your time here.

This stay was perfect for a peaceful solo retreat, just as I experienced, but it would also make a beautiful romantic getaway. A truly special place to reconnect with nature - and with yourself.
