Luxury in the Countryside
Adventure in Evans Plains, Country NSW, NSW, AU
I arrived at Wilga Station, just on the outskirts of Bathurst, ready to properly switch off—and it delivered. From the moment I stepped into the spacious cabin, with its huge window opening right out onto sweeping valley views and grass-thatched roof blending seamlessly into the landscape, I knew I’d found somewhere special. Sparkling wine on arrival and a generous breakfast hamper set the tone for a stay defined by thoughtful details.
I settled in quickly, spending most of my time reading, lingering over slow meals, and simply watching the countryside roll by as sheep wandered past the panoramic window. Mornings brought misty sunrises that felt almost dreamlike, while the fireplace kept things cosy indoors and the firepit made for perfect evenings outside. The outdoor sunken bathtub became a daily ritual—best enjoyed in the soft afternoon light.
Although I briefly ventured into Bathurst, I realised you never really need to leave this place. Everything you could want is already there. From creek swims and quiet walks to kayaking on the pond and sunset drinks on the jetty- heaven!
There’s a stillness to this place that stays with you. The Farmers Hut is genuinely so special and I wasn’t ready to leave. I’ll be back.
