Hide & Seek - River House

There's something magical about slowing down at River House. Mornings begin with the sound of birds in the trees by the river, the gentle baa of wild goats and a mist that lingers on a cold morning. We could have happily stayed at the property without ever leaving. The children spent their time making childhood memories racing barefoot between the playground and the trampoline, drawing pictures in the sand on the private beach and collecting treasures in their pockets. We spent hours canoeing on the water, roasting marshmallows by the waters edge and even enjoyed some tennis.

When the night turned cold we had dinner on the balcony then nestled by the fire and enjoyed a luxurious bath. It was the kind of adventure that makes you forget your phone exists. It invites you to slow down, reconnect and memories are made without even trying. Only a short distance from Nagambie there are cosy shops and many options for delicious food.

The River House isn't just somewhere you stay, it's somewhere you exhale.

Stroll along the Goulburn Weir and watch the cascading waterfall flow into the river. The water crashes with incredible force but the sound feels calming at the same time. Keep your eye out for small whirlpools that appear under the walkway. A lovely walk with an even better view with a nearby playground for the kids too!

Situated on the water, the Nagambie Brewery & Distillery is the perfect place to stop for a drink and a meal. The food is incredible (especially the pizza) with colouring provided for the kids. It has such a relaxed atmosphere, you'll want to linger a little longer.
