Slow winter weekend at Wariin Cottage

The moment we closed the gate at Wariin Cottage, cocooned by hedges and birdsong, the outside world fell away. Two nights of pure slow-down began.

We wandered to Hepburn Mineral Springs for a taste test (the soda spring won), then settled by the fire with pizza and red wine once the kids were asleep. Monday brought adventure: the spectacular Sailors Falls loop, tackled fearlessly by our five and three year old, followed by unmissable breakfast burgers at Wombat Hill House. At Tuki Trout Farm we landed a 1.1kg trout in five minutes, then lingered an hour just for the fun of it, before browsing the Mill Market and cooking our catch for the best dinner of the trip.

We left grounded, reconnected and already planning our return. Wariin Cottage is the perfect blend of adventure and stillness... unplug, explore, and let yourself be held.
