Sunrise bathing and a nest in the hills

There are some places that truly invite you to slow down. They're a slow inhale of crisp mountain air as you approach. Wandering down the tree-lined path to our cottage I felt my body relax as the views opened to reveal the most beautiful perspective of the Yarra Valley. The property's own vineyard stretched out towards the surrounding hills, with the charming town of Healesville nestled into the heart of the valley. Low lying cloud was gently rising across the trees, a wedge tail eagle soaring high above. Simple and serene, I felt like I'd landed.

Perfectly positioned to take in the sunrise over the hills, 'Wildernest' offers a true return to self, with the not to be missed wide outdoor tub the most perfect place to start your day. Sinking back into its depth I marveled at the expanse of the views here. Our little cottage for the weekend had everything we needed, with warm timbers and beautiful linen adding to the sense of cosy.

We had every reason to explore all that the Yarra Valley has to offer, [wineries, natural beauty and restaurants galore] but perhaps even more reasons to stay exactly where we were; lighting the fire pit, pouring a glass of red and sinking back into the bean bags to watch the stars come into view.

Our hosts were delightfully helpful and accommodating, our stay secluded and serene. We'd wander back to Wildernest in a heartbeat. It really is a special little stay!
