Summer Heights

So I had never experienced the Victorian High Country over summer and always dreamed what the mountain layers would look like with no snow so thought it was time to get down there. Howqua is a perfect spot to start the adventure, we drove to RIverdowns the Friday after work and spent the first night relaxing after a long week, of course cheese and wine was first on the list.

The sky was clear and being so far away from the city it was a perfect opportunity to take some astro shots and really enjoy the stars. Next afternoon we drove down to Mt Buller/Mt Stirling and went through the Mt Stirling circuit to see Mt Buller and The Bluff from the opposite side. Later into the afternoon we headed to the Mt Buller summit carpark, grabbed a day tent and found a sweet spot on the ridge to watch the sun go down with the most magnificent pastel purples I have ever seen. Sunrise or sunset this spot is perfect for 360 degree views with the mountain to ourselves.

This amazing cottage has been luxuriously styled.  With all the modern day amenities including a spa bath, this modern cottage in Victorias High Country was the perfect weekend escape.  For those looking to cool down and explore, the Howqua river is a short walk behind the property.
