Chilling in the Vines

The narrow serpentine road to arrive at this little gem already provided us with a good taste of the amazing time we were going to have. We had a much needed relaxed and disconnected time in this winery retreat, surrounded by beautiful vines, green hills and dams. We spent some time with our tiny human, befriending the dog, chook and cows as well as having a nap and a bath.

We spent part of our stay exploring the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges. We hiked to the Wilhelmina Falls, had a relaxing time and a fabulous lunch at the Japanese mountain retreat and a picnic admiring the sunset at Lilydale Lake. What we loved the most was wandering around the property, walking through the tall grass and enjoying some of the property's delicious wines while marvelling at the beautiful views and golden hour from the balcony.

After all these discoveries, there's nothing better than cooking dinner at the BBQ under the night sky, enjoying a dessert in front of the fireplace and having a relaxing bubble bath.

The perfect place to sit down and sip a delicious glass of wine while admiring the magnificent green hills. This is definitely the type of winery we love, a small, cute winery with amazing wines. We recommend the Cabernet Franc-Merlot and the Chardonnay. One of the best wines we had in Australia....

We hiked 6.3km (return) to Wilhelmina Falls. This hike provided us with some fun: a bit of rock scrambling, chain holding, fallen trees to walk on as well as a breath-taking view of the 75-metre tall waterfall. The whole walk has a great view of the surrounding mountain ranges....

This little cafe is open late and makes the perfect spot to stop and enjoy a late woodfire pizza after a hike in the surrounding Yarra Valley. The cafe also has a little op-shop full of vintage treasures....
