The First Taste of Spring

By complete chance our getaway fell on the most glorious three days of weather that Victoria’s had in what feels like forever.  Spring had sprung, the sun was shining bright and it's rays left the most beautiful warmth on our skin. We had absolutely every reason to submerge ourselves in the nature around us and take advantage of what the weather had to offer.

A cosy little home located in a quiet corner of Venus Bay, ideal for relaxing and winding down with a small group of friends. This gem of a spot had everything we needed, from an outdoor bath and cinema, to endless board games and a comfortable living area with bean bags to chill out in.

An all time favourite place of mine to visit since I was very little, we parked the car at Tidal River carpark and walked 30 minutes along Norman Beach to set off on one of the many hikes this place has to offer.

We hiked from Norman Beach to Little Oberon Bay, a 10km return journey that takes you to the most spectacular beach you’ll ever lay your eyes on. We chilled out on the beach for a good hour in complete solitude before making our way back to the car.
A cute cafe and lunch spot we found on the way home that served the yummiest lunch and had the loveliest outdoor area. This is a must visit to break up the journey back to Melbourne!
On our way to Tidal River in Wilsons Promontory, Squeaky Beach was a must visit. And yes, the sand actually squeaks!

Located at the entrance of Wilsons Promontory, The Big Drift offers landscapes that are like nothing else in Victoria. With no one else in sight, we took in the beautiful scenery around us and watched the sun go down on the highest sand dune we could find.
Only a short five minute drive from our accommodation, we set ourselves down on the beach in Venus Bay to watch the sun go down and see the sky colour itself in pastels.
