All-Encompassing Eco Village

Do you need some time in nature? A space where you can find your own organic fruit and wine at your doorstep?

The Annares Eco Village is host to a small community of cabins in Blampied. Cabin number 3 is situated on the lake, in the heart of a fully operational organic farm. As you step out your door, you can wander through the orchards and pick fresh fruits or walk a few hundred meters to Captains Creek Winery for some local wine or even sit down for a meal overlooking the property. We visited Hepburn Lagoon Trail Rides which was only a five-minute drive away. Then head into town for a coffee and a feed.

The cabin is in Blampied, around 15 minutes from Daylesford, with a humble set-up for anyone looking to slow down and bask in the nature around them. The cabin has a full kitchen, fireplace and you can swim in the lake if you are willing. The gas cooker is situated outside the cabin for anyone who is looking to cook up a meal during their stay.

It was so easy to relax and enjoy our time on the property. You can enjoy this Riparide in so many ways, as it is located perfectly to explore the Daylesford region or stay and explore the space around you.

When the season is right you can walk through the property and pick fresh apples, pears, nectarines, blackberries and more. They are less than a few minutes walk away and it is all organic.

The Hepburn Lagoon Trail Rides will take you from Blampied through the local forests on a 2-3 hour return ride. It was my first time riding and the owner Kieren was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in bringing me up to speed. We were able to trot and even canter if he gave you the all-clear. An exhilarating experience. Don't expect to take a camera or a backpack when you ride as it will be too difficult to control.

You can have a cellar door tasting experience or site back with a meal and a glass of organic wines that are grown all around you. If you speak with the owners you can learn all about the history of the farm, wine and eco-village. An absolute must-see.

This cafe is located just outside of the main strip in Daylesford. Enjoy incredible locally sourced food and a plethora of local produce inside the cafe.
