Sunset Serenity at Hollow Mountain

Hike in Laharum, VIC
The setting sun painted the sky in gold as we began our hike to Wudjub-Guyun (Hollow Mountain). The trail started in a green gully lined with banksias and grass trees. The air smelled of eucalyptus, helping me focus. The path quickly became steep, testing our determination. We passed an iron-stained cliff that shone in the light and navigated around fallen boulders. Our hearts raced with excitement as I neared the top. We encountered naturally carved caverns that glowed amber in the fading light. We paused to touch the cool stone, feeling connected to the forces that shaped this place.

At the peak, the view amazed us. The vast Wimmera Plains stretched out, and Mount Stapylton stood tall on the horizon. The wind whispered around us as the sun set, casting long shadows. We sat quietly, watching day turn to night, feeling a deep peace. The climb was hard, but the reward was a beautiful moment in nature. As darkness fell, we headed back down, carrying the memory of that sunset in our heart.
