Embracing Off-Grid Glory
Adventure in Chum Creek, Yarra Valley, VIC, AU
There’s something really special about slowing down and experiencing off-grid tiny house living, surrounded entirely by nature and tucked away from the noise of everyday life. This beautifully designed tiny home sits perched among the trees with views out to the ranges, and from the moment I arrived it felt incredibly peaceful and secluded.
One of my favourite moments was waking up to the most beautiful sunrise through the window. I spent the mornings making coffee and enjoying it on the deck, just sitting quietly and looking out at the view while listening to the sounds of nature. It was lovely to pause, reflect and take it slow.
Inside, the space felt cosy and thoughtful. I found myself curling up on the couch with a book and enjoying the simplicity of the tiny house life, cooking in the kitchen and just settling into the calm of the surroundings.
The outdoor bath was easily my favourite part of course, soaking while surrounded by nature was pure magic! There’s also a lovely outdoor entertaining space with a gas heater, which would be perfect if you were staying with friends.
Even though it feels completely tucked away, the house is only a short drive to Healesville. While I was there I stopped at Selover’s Lookout for the views, took a beautiful drive along the iconic Black Spur through the forest, and picked up some delicious local wine from Payten & Jones.
For me, this stay was all about slowing down and reconnecting with nature. It’s the kind of place that gently encourages you to breathe a little deeper, and enjoy the quiet. It is the perfect escape for a taste of off-grid life.
