Run Free

Hounds Run Tiny House, Set in the beautiful vineyard with amazing views of the grampians, is about 3 hours drive from home, arriving was like taking a big breath of fresh air. We sat and looked up at the stars for hours which were visible from the bed.

We planned the next day to hike in the grampians which took us to hollow mountain. a very rewarding track with some nice climbs and epic views. we spent most of the day exploring caves and mountain tops, (and hiding from the rain in the caves). We also learned that the Grampians is home to some rich aboriginal history, so we went to a few sites over the weekend such as Bunjil Shelter where you can see the only known painting of Bunjil.

The grampians has always held an energy that I can feel every time I visit and it stays with me long after leaving, I felt like a kid again climbing mountains and exploring caves.
The Hounds Run Tiny House was the perfect place to relax and breath the fresh air, as well as our base camp to adventure.

Hollow Mountain is right at the northern end of the Grampians, we explored the area all day, climbing rocks and cliffs and crawling through caves. There is some epic views along the way but the summit view was the best!

Hearing of these paintings and the story of Bunjil had me intrigued to learn more and see the painting for myself. This is the only known painting of Bunjil, (and his 2 dingos) Bunjil is said to do no harm. The walk is pretty easy and there's lots of boulders to explore.
The Gulgurn Manja Shelter is another spot you can see some aboriginal rock art paintings.
