Hiking Mount Kosciuszko Summit
Hike in Charlotte Pass, NSW
Take the Kosciuszko chairlift and hike up to the summit. It’s a gentle 13km round trip, which will take you 4-6 hours, depending on your condition. You are walking on a steel path almost all the way to the top, occasionally you will find some snow on the way so make sure that you pack your sealed hiking boots for this one.
It was a wild experience to be able to hike Australia’s highest mountain, with stunning views from the top. Don’t forget to bring your sunglasses and put sunscreen on as the snow reflects the sun and it can get you sunburnt easily.
P.s. The chairlifts are operating between 9am and 4:30pm, so in case you don’t intend to walk all the way down to Thredbo you should plan your hike accordingly.
