About Wine Country
Washington’s wine country is centered on the fertile lands east of the Cascades. Columbia Valley, Yakima Valley and Walla Walla Valley are the names to remember, with these three regions being responsible for the bulk of Washington’s wines. Syrah, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, chardonnay and riesling are the state’s most popular grapes, though there are many more varieties planted across the regions. Try them while kicking back at your Riparide cabin, or by visiting one of the many cellar doors scattered across Washington Wine Country. Maybe you’ll fill up at an organic, farm-to-table restaurant before cleansing your palate at one of Walla Walla or Yakima’s much-loved breweries. And if you’re looking to get the blood pumping, hiking and biking opportunities are never far away, thanks to the Cascades and Blue Mountains, while the Snake and Columbia rivers offer a lifetime of adventure for anyone keen on the water.
