The Cottage at Bummer Creek is located on a 20+ acre property with nature trails, a salmon bearing creek, spectacular valley and mountain views, and an 18 basket disc golf course right off the front deck. Come relax and enjoy the view.
Please note: for the foreseeable future, we are only accepting fully vaccinated guests. Once your information has been verified, your reservation will be accepted. The Cottage at Bummer Creek
*With an aromatic raw cedar interior and plush queen sized bed wrapped with organic cotton linen in the loft, you'll sleep soundly, and awaken to the sounds of chirping birds and the rooster's morning call.
*The kitchen is equipped with all the essential tools: pots and pans, glassware, plates and bowls, an auto-drip coffeemaker and more (basic condiments, i.e. salt, pepper, olive oil and vinegar, fresh ground coffee, a variety of teas, raw sugar, and half and half mini moo's,... oh and Mary's fabulous homemade jams). Also included is a countertop toaster oven, and a two burner infrared hot plate which stows under the counter when not needed.
*You'll have your choice of either dining inside or outdoors on the deck.
*The creek facing standup work station features built-in USB ports, and also doubles as a convenient birdwatching perch.
*A glass enclosed shower and waterfall basin adorn the bathroom.
*There is a multi-function ottoman that also transforms into either a chaise lounge or standard twin sized day or night bed. For parties of a maximum of four, we can include a queen-size bed on the main floor. Some restrictions apply.
* Maximum booking stays are 5 nights.

Guest access
The town of Alsea is approximately 1.5 mile from the cottage, and is best reached by personal transportation (walking is possible, but from time to time logging trucks make this un-nerving). There is a funky locally owned Diner and well stocked Mercantile.
Guest parking is right next to the cottage. Backing in will allow you to unload and load your luggage right on to the front deck. While you're here, you will have access to the trail that surrounds the property (map provided), free use of the private disc golf course, and also the forest (BLM) that surrounds our property. Other nearby adventure activities include Alsea Falls and Mountain Bike Trails, Mary's Peak Recreation Area, and numerous other State Parks all along the Alsea River, all the way to the Pacific coast which is 40 minutes away.
Other things to note:
*At the present time, we are only accepting fully vaccinated guests.
*No fish cleaning inside cabin. A $500.00 cleaning fee will be assessed if this rule is violated.
*We do not allow smoking in the cottage, and anywhere on the property during drought or fire hazard seasons.
*No shoes in the house. There is a seat and carpeting inside at the door, to accommodate shoe removal.
*Bedding must remain inside the cabin. Out of doors blankets and sheets are available upon request.
*All dishes should be washed and the bedding stripped prior to checking out. All bed linen and bath towels can be deposited in the laundry bag provided on the lower left shelf of the standup desk.
*As noted elsewhere, while our newest puppy is in training, we will not be accepting guest pets. This policy can be changed on a case by case basis. Please do not hesitate to ask if you think your pet could tolerate a very vocal and seemingly aggressive beginner. (She's not really, just very excited).
