Nestled amongst the mountains just outside of the township of Whittlesea our 40-acre property sits above the clouds. This experience comes with sweeping views, a hidden waterfall, clear campground, and plenty of wildlife.
The Cabin:
The Beautiful primitive A-frame Cabin awaits your arrival with plush bedding, cozy outdoor fire, outdoor lounge and a net hammock off the deck. More than anything else this is a place to relax and be away from normal life and rediscover what weekends are for.
The cabin itself is basic but a beautifully romantic and rustic bedroom. There is no power on site. A water tank provides access to water and all cooking is done via a bbq or an enclosed fire pit with hot plate. A small esky is provided which can hold 1 bag of ice and a days food. You will need to bring a picnic basket with all cooking accessories, cups, plates and utensils.
We provide the bed & cabin in an epic location, you do the rest.
* Please note that the hot tub is currently out of action. This is the reason for the reduced price. *
Access: The camping area is accessible by 4WD only, otherwise, strap on a backpack and earn it! (800m walk/hike from where a non 4WD can park).
The driveway does have speed bumps which have helped to move water off the driveway. These can be problematic for small cars so its 4WD or hike.
Parking: If you choose to park and walk or have a friend drive you to the summit. There is ample of street parking at the base of the driveaway. Approximately 10 cars without concern.
Toilet : We have a basic communal toilet ( outhouse ) this is cleaned weekly and services the A frame cabin and free campers.
Power: The free camping and A frame cabin have no power access. There is access to a BBQ which has ample Gas.
Firewood: Fallen trees are welcome to be used for fires, Wheel barrows of fire wood can be purchased for an additional price. Please check fire restrictions for open fire use.
Waterfall track: The waterfall is reached by a goat trail from the campsite, leading down into the valley. We recommend hiking boots or work boots as the terrain is steep and loose in areas. Recommend age 10+. You’ll need to ascend down the north face of the mountain into the valley. Follow the creek scrambling either side of the creek, where you will find 4 waterfalls ranging from 2 – 4 metres in height.
Dogs: Are welcome, so long as they don't bother the wildlife same goes for cats.
We welcome self-contained campers, who take all waste with them. We have a strict Leave No Trace policy. We do not provide bins so please BYO rubbish bags and take your rubbish home with you. An additional cleaning fee will be added to your booking if guests do not do this.
Please do not cut down trees: there are plenty of fallen branches that can be used for firewood. Please respect the property by not cutting down standing trees. Even if you think they are dead, we would appreciate it if you please left them standing.
