Cubby House Kyneton

Hello and welcome to the Cubby House!

A lovingly restored miner’s cottage in the middle of Kyneton, Vic.

Within walking distance of all the town favourites, the Cubby House is a special handcrafted haven ideal for a creative retreat, as a launching pad to explore the region, or a peaceful home base while you wine and dine or wedding-dance the night away.

Our light-filled cottage includes a lovely deep bath, a fully equipped kitchen with induction cooktop and butler’s pantry, a rear garden to enjoy from both inside and out, and a fabulous queen bed with comfy underlays and quilts.

We’ve updated the cottage to feel warm and cosy and dripping with good light, and the kitchen living area also has a split system and ceiling fan for a comfortable space in all weather. During the renovation we’ve salvaged incredible timbers to feature, kept the original cottage feel as much as possible, and utilised a whole host of recycled and repurposed materials. You’ll enjoy a creative balance of creature comforts and resourceful charm.

You’ll also find a selection of games, books and jigsaw puzzles - please make use of them! You’ll notice there is no TV so if full luxury accom is what you’re after this is probably not the place for you (there are several wonderful options in town to choose from). But we know not everyone wants to bring their streaming services with them for a weekend away!

The Cubby House is located in a fabulous part of town - you’ll be nestled amongst the Campaspe river walk, art galleries, good coffee, and the very best restaurants and bars.

It’s the perfect base to explore the town or the wider region, whether you are into adventuring, bushwalking and star gazing, or just enjoying the local wines and dining gems that keep visitors coming back to Kyneton.
