Dutjiya Mang means 'rest here' in Dja Dja Wurrung and was named by the Djaara Aboriginal Land Coorporation. It's the perfect name for this peaceful spot!

On the site of the old Sandon Primary School and next door to a quaint, rural churchyard, Dutjiya Mang is a modest, cosy and leafy retreat. Inside the modest cedar wood cabin, vaulted ceilings add a sense of space to the cosy lounge (with double sofa-bed) and queen-sized bedroom. Step out and enjoy a barbecue on one of two decks.

You will have undisturbed use of Dutjiya Mang. However, the cabin shares 1.8 acres with our house, which is approximately 50 metres away and separated by tall eucalypts, that add to the sense of seclusion. Feel free to explore the whole property though!

Hi, I'm Red (they/them). I love travel, food, wine, peace and quiet, the countryside, old cities, hiking, human rights, social justice, chickens, bees, sustainable living, singing and music making - not necessarily in that order! I co-host @dutjiyamang - a socially conscious holiday cottage on my property on Dja Dja Wurrung Country. My partner and I love welcoming guests to our corner of the world and giving you the peace and privacy you need for a restful trip. We donate at least 50% of profits to social and environmental justice charities. We Pay The Rent to the traditional owners, the Dja Dja Wurrung people of the Kulin nation. And whilst we are transitioning the property to be completely off grid, we carbon offset with Greenfleet. As a LGBTIQA+ owned holiday home, we are proud that Dutjiya Mang is member of the Welcome Here Project.
