Our Separation Creek / Wye River Beach House is the ultimate place to reconnect with nature and simple pleasures. An idyllic location, this coastal retreat provides all the opportunity to wind down, to find solitude.
Wake to waves rolling, spot koalas in the towering trees, watch whales migrate through Bass Strait and hear birds singing in the morning sun. Adjoining the Great Otway National Park, take in rugged coastlines, spotless beaches and the mountains of the Otway Ranges.
Note:
- Booking for 1-2 guests means access to 1 x king-sized guest room (1 bedroom will remain closed).
- Booking for 3-4 guest means access to 2 x king-sized guest rooms (both bedrooms will be open).
- Each guest room has its own spacious ensuite.
- Generally, we are a pet-free house. However, if you have a small dog who you would love to bring with you, please contact us to discuss.
The Space:
Upstairs is the entertaining space with a wide-open and fully appointed kitchen which overlooks the adjacent nature reserve, bistro-style dining and open fire. In keeping with our vision, there is a spectacularly large veranda, perfect for taking in the incredible views while enjoying a G&T.
Downstairs is a private retreat for each guest, with three boutique hotel-style rooms. Our Beach House can sleep up to 4 guests across 2 private rooms. Our property offers ‘democratic’ private bedrooms, all with identical proportions, king-sized beds, luxury linen, separate bathrooms and stunning floor to ceiling ocean views. This means there’s a private space for every person to enjoy. No one needs to draw straws for the best room!
We have a fireplace with some wood supplied plus ducted heating and cooling throughout.
Tools to Cook, Play & Relax:
We have equipped our Beach House with all the tools you need to cook, to play and to relax for hours on end. To help you enjoy a unique 'momentary escape' our Beach House includes:
- Weber BBQ
- Wood fired pizza oven (wood provided)
- Beach games - cricket, badminton, finska and frisbee
- Fishing gear
- Board games
- Picnic basket, thermos, deck chairs, rug & umbrella
- Pour over drip coffee
- Sonos music amp and LP record player
- TV with free-to-air and streaming services
- WiFi internet
We provide complimentary pantry essentials, premium New Zealand bath/body products and a well stocked drinks trolley to all of our guests.
We have a laundry equipped with a washer, as well as laundry detergent.
While we have a house manager a call away should you need anything, we offer a simple self-check-in, a comprehensive house guide and local activity tips.

Coastal House Use: Please enjoy your stay with us to relax, unwind, explore and reconnect with family and friends.
The Coastal House may not be used for any parties, gatherings, weddings or other functions, nor any commercial purposes or other events.
The Coastal House may not be used for any other purposes without Months & Seasons's express written permission.
Condition: Months & Seasons is very proud of our Coastal House and considerable time, effort and money had been expended to realise our vision. Please make yourself at home and look after it in the same way you would if it were yours. We understand that a glass or a plate may get broken from time to time, so please do not worry about that type of damage. We would only be concerned in the event of major damage to fixtures, fittings and art work.
Guests must not damage the Coastal House and must not damage, remove or lose any Items.
Cleaning: Standard cleaning is included with your booking. That means we do things like vacuum, put away dishes you’ve run through the dishwasher, clean the bathrooms, wash sheets and towels.
However, if there’s a large mess - sand or mud throughout the house, a disaster left in the kitchen, you may be charged an additional cleaning fee. Basically, we ask you to please leave the house largely how you found it.
Deposit: There is a security deposit of $600 that may be retained if there’s any noticeable damage to the property. This doesn’t mean normal wear and tear, or something like one broken glass, it’s to help cover major damage that may be caused by guests.
Our property has been furnished with premium items. You become responsible for any and all damage and loss to the property and its contents from the date and time you check-in to the date and time you check-out. Any damaged items at Months & Seasons will be charged at the full advertised replacement cost and product brand. Cleaning charges as a result of stains from spills that can be professionally removed will be charged for at cost.
Insects: We are in the country, so there’s plenty of insects! Please don’t leave lights on at night with the doors open, as it will just bring hundreds of insects inside.
Lost or Damaged Keys: Lost keys will incur a $350 replacement charge to your card.
Max number of Guests & Childen: the maximum number of guests is 6 people (this includes adults and children). No outside visitors or overnight guests, nor are parties allowed. Parties, functions, Weddings, Schoolies, excess of guest or poor behaviour is not permitted under any circumstances.
Our property has three king size bedrooms, each with an ensuite. Booking for 1-2 guests provides access to 1 bedroom, 3-4 guests provides access to 2 bedrooms, and booking for 5-6 guests provides access to 3 bedrooms.
Children are permitted at the Coastal House, however, Guests are responsible for the actions of any and all children in their group, and must take all reasonable steps to ensure that the children comply with the house rules. The Coastal House has not been designed with children in mind and amongst other considerations, the Coastal House, is not fenced, has a steep spiral staircase and is situated on a steep block of land.
Pets: Guests are not allowed to bring pets or other animals into the Coastal House without the prior written consent of Months & Seasons. In the event that Months & Seasons consents to the Guest bringing a pet or animal into the Coastal House, the Guest is fully responsible for those pets or animals, and will cooperate with Months & Seasons in taking any reasonable steps to minimise the risk of harm, loss or damage that the pet or animal may cause.
Quiet times: noise carries, especially in this quiet part of the world. Please be mindful of your neighbours and limit noise later in the evenings (after 10pm) and early morning.
Responsible Renter: The responsible renter must be at least 30 years of age. Guests under 30 are of course welcome but must be accompanied by someone over the age of 30 who must reside at the property for the entire duration of the booking
Smoking: Months & Seasons is strictly non-smoking. If you smoke outside, please don’t leave any cigarette butts on the ground.
Extreme & Code Red Fire policy: If an Extreme or Code Red Fire Danger Rating is declared for Separation Creek during your stay:
In the event of a Code Red Alert we will advise you to leave the night before, or early on the day of Code Red, and visit a safer area. You should keep monitoring warnings and signs of fire activity, and return only when it is clearly safe to do so.
Our cancellation policy - in the event of Extreme or Code Red warning declared by the relevant authority and guests are required to evacuate, we will issue a credit note for the portion of your stay that is interrupted by the event.
