Kurrajong House
Cottage Features
Kurrajong House is a beautifully restored three-bedroom timber worker's cottage perched on a hill, offering a serene escape separate from the other homes in the Old Saw Mill Town. The master bedroom features a luxurious king-sized bed and a cozy open fireplace. The two single bedrooms are perfect for small groups or families. For an added touch of luxury, unwind under the stars in your newly installed Baltic wood-fired hot tub. This traditional outdoor tub is heated by a separate wood fire, creating a deeply relaxing and authentic experience. The home includes an open-plan living, kitchen, and dining area, and a bathroom with a spacious shower, toilet, and vanity. A large verandah wraps around the home's northern and western sides, offering breathtaking views of the sunrise and sunset from an elevated vantage point.

Building History
Kurrajong House is part of a sprawling 2,750-acre farming property that borders the pristine waters of the Clyde River. This unique cottage is a key part of Brooman's heritage, having been lovingly restored to its original charm. The hilltop location provides stunning countryside views and easy access to natural wonders, including nearby hiking trails like the iconic Pigeon House Mountain.

Off-Grid Living
The property is completely off-grid and powered by a central solar system with underground 240V power. Water is collected from the pristine rain that falls from the sky and is stored in galvanized iron tanks. An instantaneous gas water heater provides hot water.

Brooman Features
The old town site is set opposite a large bend in the Clyde River. The deep water extends for nearly a kilometre upstream, making it a great place for canoeing, fishing for Bass, Platypus watching, or simply listening to the dozens of unique and beautiful endemic bird species of this area. There is a resident mob of Eastern Grey Kangaroos that typically comes out at dusk. You may also spot Red-Necked Wallabies, Bandicoots, microbats, blue-tongued lizards, and Possums. The buildings date back to the late 1800s to early 1900s, once supporting a thriving community of up to 200 people. Brooman had a post office, school, dance hall, mechanics building, galley, general store, phone exchange, and cottages for the saw mill workers and their families.
