In the heart of the farm, sits our recently renovated, two-bedroom cottage, with an open plan kitchen and living area, bathroom, wood burning fireplace, it is the perfect place to disconnect while watching the leaves dance in the wind, and the goats grazing.

From bushwalking and fishing, to stargazing and animal feeding, from relaxing with a cold beer at the dam during Summer to enjoying a glass of red wine in front of the fire in Winter, it is the perfect place to reconnect with your loved ones at any time of the year. Our property is entirely off-grid - we harness all our own power and bring water up from our underground bore. We invite you to our little piece of paradise, to soak up all the beauty of the real Australian bush.

Additional Information

Our property name is ‘Seven Hills Tallarook’. As the name suggests, we have seven magnificent hills giving 360 degree views over the Tallarook Ranges, Mount Piper in Broadford and over towards Seymour and Puckapunyal.

Our property is 600 acres and shares 2km of Sunday Creek frontage which has been lost over the past decades. We have over 40km of fences and 20km of roads on the property. We home South African Boer Goats, a selection of sheep and alpacas, a mixture of pigs, cows, chickens, ducks, turkeys, dogs and cats.

We harness all our power and water from natural resources and therefore are in limited supply, especially during winter. We therefore, respectfully ask that you are mindful of the power and water you consume.

Being one hour North of Melbourne, up the Hume Freeway, we are situated in prime position in the upcoming Northern corridor. We have some of the regions best wineries, such as Mitchelton and Tahbilk. The Rail Trail and the Tallarook Ranges. On the first Sunday of each month, Tallarook has a farmers market which has the regions best and finest produces.

Seymour is our nearest and largest town. It homes both Coles and Woolworths, Aldi, IGA, all major banks and Australia Post. There is several doctors surgeries, the hospital and a couple of vets. Broadford is also the same distance away but smaller in size. Both, as well as Tallarook have nice Hotels and Pubs for dinner.

Guest access
Our guests can enjoy all our 600 acres and the wonderful activities it can provide. We encourage our guests to participate in what happens on the farm for a true "farming" experience. Our goats and very friendly and love attention. We have 7 damns for yabbying, 2kms of Sunday Creek frontage to enjoy and fish and magnificent views that will make you not w

At times, while we use machinery, we will ask you not to access that area for your own safety.

Other things to note
We welcome families with children of all ages. We have a port-a-cot should you need it, please request it in your booking. There are some basic board games available and regular TV channels to help keep the children entertained, however, the biggest entertainer is right outside the front door.

Additionally, we welcome pets of all sorts. Our only ask is that they don't go in the bedrooms and stay of all furniture. We also kindly ask that you tidy up after your dog's when out on the farm.

Guests must adhere to our strict no smoking policy (especially during fire ban season) and during fire band season there is to be no open fires at all.

We are completely self-contained and generate our own power from wind and solar so please be mindful of our limited resources. Our water comes from rainwater and underground springs. On overcast days our back up generated will run to keep you comfortable. While our water is safe to consume, we would suggest brining bottled water for drinking. We use the tap water to shower and cook with, however, if you are not used to it, the water can taste salty as it is higher in minerals, but perfectly safe!

At the moment, we have no Wi-Fi, and some limited connections with certain providers.

Additionally, we don't have air-conditioning at the moment as we are waiting on the trades to install. The living room has a stand fan and the evening cool breeze is enjoyable.

Additional guests will be charged accordingly for over night stays.

We bought the property in Tallarook around 2000, simply, just bush block, now transformed to a retreat in the bush, with an impressive homestead, cottage, tiny homes, camp grounds, home to our many farmyard animals.
