Set on 108 acres, our cozy off-grid cabin is perfect for a peaceful getaway. Set above the pristine Brogo River, The Nest is a comfortable and secluded place whether you're looking for a quiet retreat, a nature-lover’s paradise, or a place to unwind and enjoy the outdoors.
The majority of the property is protected by a voluntary conservation agreement which benefits the local flora and fauna. As you stroll around the place you'll notice many old growth eucalyptus trees and rusty fig trees. This is where the Superb Lyrebirds like to hang out and show off their vocal repertoire. Twitchers will love waking up to the sound of birdsong, including Kookaburras, Grey Fantails, Golden Whistlers and many more.
Kangaroos and Wallabies are often seen grazing nearby and the odd Echidna can sometimes be spotted waddling around. Wombats and Owls may be sighted at night time.
As there is very little light pollution, the night sky is a wonder of stars, galaxies and planets, all visible to the naked eye on a clear night. Enjoy stargazing whilst sitting around a crackling fire.
Guests can enjoy a 1km stroll down to the Brogo River for a swim, or a spot of fishing. River life includes Bass and if you're lucky, you may spot a Platypus! The walk back up requires some effort but is suitable for those with an average level of fitness.
This region is a mix of rolling hills, coastal beauty, and small rural towns. Only 30 to 40 mins to the beautiful coastal towns of Bermagui and Narooma; 30 mins north to the small, historic town of Tilba and just 30 mins south to the regional town of Bega, famous for the Bega cheese factory.
Note that we live in the main house which is 300mtrs from The Nest and out of sight. So your privacy and seclusion is ensured.
