Additional Information

Welcome to the House

I’m so glad you’re here.
Truly — I hope this space feels like a gentle exhale, a quiet corner of the world to slow down and rest.
Below are a few little notes to help you settle in easily, so you can get right to enjoying your stay.

Kitchen Notes

• The induction hot plate is tucked on top of the microwave in the butler’s pantry. It heats quickly, perfect for simple, cozy meals.
Just be sure it’s placed on a flat surface before switching on. A quick-use guide is nearby if you need it.
• The fire extinguisher and first aid kit live under the kitchen sink — hopefully never needed, but there if you do.

Hot Water Instructions

• To warm the water, simply switch it on at the main switch inside the switchboard box (just outside the front door).
It heats up fast, ready for long showers or soothing baths.

Toilet Note

• The little tap beside the toilet will be turned off when you arrive.
Just turn it on to flush.
When you do, hold the button down a touch longer — until everything’s completely washed away.

BBQ Note

• The ignition button on the BBQ no longer works, so please use the matches (you’ll find them on the mantle in the loungeroom).
Take your time, light it up, and enjoy slow outdoor meals under the sky.

Lawn Care

• The lawns are freshly cut every Tuesday during the day — a little country ritual to keep everything neat for you.

Firewood

Orbost can be beautifully crisp (and downright cold) in winter.
Please bring enough firewood for your stay.
I try to keep fire starters, matches, and kindling stocked, but it’s best to come prepared.
There are nearby service stations where you can easily pick some up.

During Your Stay

If you need anything — truly anything — please reach out.
Make yourself at home: cook slow meals, curl up by the fire, sleep in, wander the yard barefoot.
Let these days be soft and unhurried. This little house is yours while you’re here.

Hello, I’m Ro — photographer, barefoot wanderer, hopeless romantic for the small moments. I live in a sweet little cottage tucked away in East Gippsland, where the mornings smell like eucalyptus and the evenings are made for slow dinners and good wine under the stars. I’m a lover of flannys, sunflowers, and spontaneous road trips with the windows down and music turned up. I’d pick dandelions over roses, a campfire over a cinema, a handwritten note over a text message, and I’ll always be the first to kick off my shoes and feel the grass under my feet. I spend my days chasing the sun with my camera, collecting quiet memories for people to hold onto forever. When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me hiking up a mountain that’s far too big for my fitness level, flowing through yoga somewhere pretty, or travelling cross-country just to hug my favourite people. I couldn’t live without the ocean, a cupboard full of essential oils, soulful music on vinyl, or the gentle chaos of my loved ones. I’m a minimalist at heart — I’d rather fill my life with stories, laughter and connection than anything I could buy. Thanks for being here. I hope your stay brings you the same kind of soft, golden moments I’ve built my life around.
