Just past Bright, your wilderness escape awaits. Get excited. It's different here. Pack your gumboots, a bag or two of marshmallows and your sense of adventure.
We'll provide the log cabin with all the trimmings. You get busy making memories. Trail running, bike riding, trout fishing, Inner tube river drifting, gold panning, board game olympics, ping pong play-offs, fondue cooking, open fire star gazing, forrest picnicking, mushroom foraging, good old fashioned WIFI-less FUN....
We'll provide the log cabin with all the trimmings. You get busy making memories. Trail running, bike riding, trout fishing, Inner tube river drifting, gold panning, board game olympics, ping pong play-offs, fondue cooking, open fire star gazing, forrest picnicking, mushroom foraging, good old fashioned WIFI-less FUN....

MOONRISE LODGE DETAILS
You'll be staying in our log cabin. It has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and all the space you could ever need to store your adventure stuff and to have a ball. It's super warm, inviting and kitted out for fun.
You'll get the run of the property. It's all yours. We won't be around, but just a phone call away. Everything is super straight forward, so we're pretty confident you won't need us. We're available if you do.
Forage for pine mushrooms. Make a camp fire (Restrictions permitting). Toast marshmallows. Make lunch with the jaffle iron. Chop wood. Get a bit rugged. Grow a beard & wear a flanny (optional).
We'll give you directions and more info on these when you arrive. Can't give all of our secrets away just yet.
Your nearest shops, restaurants and wineries are all just 5km down the road. We usually park the car and leave it rest for the weekend, making our way around on bikes or catch a cab home from the brewery when required. The best part about Moonrise is getting away from all of that stuff anyway.
We suggest you stock up on supplies before you come or head into Bright to hunt and gather in one fell swoop. Make yourself a coffee for a change?!
Here are a list of our favourites -
On the way up we like to go to "Brown brothers Winery" in Milawa for a cheeky glass of wine and some olives. It's sensational. We stock up on cheesey goodness ("Tomme" and "Mt Buffalo Blue") at the Milawa Cheese Factory. Gapsted Winery does a good Prosecco and tastings at the cellar door.
In Bright itself, our faves are:
- Sixpense Coffee Roasters: The best coffee in town. Any town, that is.
- Ginger Baker: It's also a cute spot for a dinner of shared plates under the stars. Rug up.
- Wandi Pub: Great for a dinner out with the kids. Huge lawn and a super relaxed country pub vibe.
- Dr Mauve: Superb modern Australian menu and the best spot for a cheese platter and a nightcap.
- The Bright Brewery: During the day you can perch up on the balcony and watch the kids run wild in the incredible wooden playground, down in the park....
