The Cabin at Kevington

Cabin in Kevington, High Country, VIC

Set on the banks of the beautiful Goulburn River, surrounded by state forest, the cabin is ideal for a romantic escape or an adventure filled getaway. You can choose to do a multitude of activities in the area or just relax by the river in summer, or by the fire in winter.

The spacious open-plan living and dining area has cathedral ceilings, a cosy wood-fired heater and fireplace made from locally sourced slate, a huge comfy couch and large dining table. Relics from the gold-mining days adorn the walls.

I wish to provide guests with a 'digital detox' so there is no TV and no internet. There is no mobile reception unless you are with Telstra so you can enjoy the feeling of being totally disconnected.

Music can be played on the Bose sound system using a device pre-loaded with music such as an iPod or iPhone. There is a large trunk full of games and jigsaw puzzles and plenty of books and magazines.

Floor to ceiling windows offer a lovely view across the lawn to the river and a glass door opens onto an expansive deck complete with comfy couch. The perfect spot to enjoy a morning cuppa or an afternoon drink and just enjoy the view whilst listening to the soothing sounds of the river.

There is even a comfy 'wooden tent' which sleeps two, set down near the river which has a wall of glass at one end with river views.

Hi I’m Samantha, I purchased the cabin at Kevington as my weekender and I’m so happy to be able to share it with you. My dad and my late mum purchased the land in 1976 when I was just 6 years old and built the cabin on it. I spent every weekend and school holidays here as a child and it holds cherished memories of times spent here with my family and friends. My career has been in hospitality, travel and hotels and I’ve been very fortunate to have travelled extensively staying in many beautiful homes and hotels around the world. Despite this, I still regard the cabin at Kevington to be one of the most special places in the world and I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I do. Using the feedback received and my experience in the hospitality industry, I intend to continually make improvements to the cabin so you too will have cherished memories of your stay and will want to return over and over again.
