High cyprus pine ceilings, retro fittings, sunny aspect and shelter from prevailing winds give Clifftop its unique style leaving guests with lasting memories..
The house and garden is lovingly maintained by us (Chris and Bruce) to make your stay special.
The house is perched right on top of the Cliff in Tathra . A large timber deck at the rear of the house overlooks a hidden semi Rainforest Gully, a haven for local wallabies, lyrebirds, honeyeaters and skinks. A wonderland for kids!
Situated in a quiet lane with no through traffic makes it only a 2 minute walk to the beach, Tathra Wharf and Tathra Hotel. It is just a hop skip and jump to the Hotel to charge your electric vehicle and enjoy a lunch or dinner with complimentary music on weekends
The view from the house is stunning, overlooking the beautiful, safe Tathra Beach and yet is very protected from coastal winds.
Clifftop is single story at the front and double at the rear. Under the deck at the rear is a private space with laundry room and a second retro bathroom with toilet and shower. The stunning garden with tree ferns, orchids, cliveas and a huge monstera thicket are features of this space as well as a green maintained lawn both at the rear and front of the house.

The 2 bedroom home features a Queen bedroom overlooking the front verandah with ocean views, and a King bedroom (or split to 2 singles). All linen is supplied
The unique pink and grey retro bathroom has a bath/ shower, with a separate toilet.
A fully equipped kitchen with pots, pans, cutlery and crockery ,stove, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, jug, toaster is like home away from home.
The house has Air con ,digital TV and NBN access with WiFI so you can now work and play while visiting Clifftop.
When you stay at 'Clifftop you are centrally placed to discover the region.
The fabulous bike paths are awaiting enthusiasts and the many beaches and inlets of the region are just bekoning. You can kayak with local guides, fish from your boat, hire a bike for a leisurely ride, play the many beauitiful regional golf courses, dine out at the Tathra Hotel and have coffee in town or at one of the regions interesting towns.

Clifftop is totally a holiday house so the whole space is yours. The house is accessed on level ground and has 2 low access steps only. Handrails in the shower & toilet if needed. Stairs to the lower level or sloping access at the side of the house. There is a small carport close to the front door
We like to meet our guests personally on arrival if we can. There are always questions that we can hopefully answer and details to tell you. We like to make sure our guests are happy and comfortable before leaving them to enjoy their stay privately.
You can watch the whales in the winter and spring from the house, cliff or the wharf and Headland pathway. Sea eagles soar in the cliff updraughts right outside the house. Our neighbours are friendly and helpful and Cliff Place is a dead-end laneway with no through car traffic. National parks and forest are close by with a choice of secluded beaches, walks and bike trails. You can fish, play golf, tennis, surf, kayak, and swim, or simply relax and read a book. Restaurants/ clubs are within walking distance of the house.
Our guests are welcome to visit our property at Kangarutha Farm, just out of town, to experience our private coastal park with trails, picnic spots and wildlife.
Our family offers private farm based camping sites for those who want a more low key holiday (see https;//Kangarutha.com.au or Hipcamp).
You can travel to Tathra by car, bus and air. Alternatively, the airport is at Merimbula, only 20 minutes away. You can either hire a car or we are happy to pick you up and take you to 'Clifftop'. Buses arrive at Merimbula or Bega and again you can arrange to be picked up. Daily buses run from Merimbula and Bega to Tathra.
We only offer a minimum 7-night stay at 'Clifftop' as we like our guests to stop, relax and enjoy their stay, to make it memorable. Seasonal prices apply.
We have an enclosed deck and a partly dog-friendly beach. Dogs must be clean and dry before entering the house. No pets on the furniture please for the comfort of others. We suggest you check with your vet about paralysis ticks treatment before your stay.
The house is dog friendly (no puppies thanks) but we expect owners to follow our house rules strictly. Terms and conditions will be forwarded on application for Clifftop. We don't ask for a bond but we ask our guests to leave the house as they found it.
Smoking is allowed outside only.
Car charging is available at the Tathra Hotel. Please do not charge your car at Clifftop.

I am a retired horticulturist and grandmother. I love vegetable gardening and produce most of our own vegetables. In my spare time I like to walk in the local bush, catch up with my friends at Bookclub and coffee. I ride horses and have done all my life, purely for pleasure. I love our local bush, coastline and our small property where we live just out of town. My grandchildren are very important to me and I love to spend time with them. My husband Bruce and I love to escape and camp both nearby and other parts of our wonderful country. We also own a wonderful property in the snowy mountains and love to spend time in our mountain hut. I am committed to making our properties at 'Clifftop' in Tathra and 'Kangarutha Farm Cottage' near Tathra the best that I can, where our guests can relax, unwind and enjoy their choice of either unique location. Both houses offer a different holiday experience. The houses are comfortable, with everything you will need for a memorable holiday.
