Additional Information
Your self-contained cottage is completely private. You'll enjoy serenity and peace! The cottage is split level with a combined lounge/bedroom and separate bathroom upstairs and then down 8 steps, there is a full kitchen and dining area overlooking the garden as well as an outdoor deck with BBQ.
From the undercover car park, it is a short walk down a gently sloped paved path to your cottage front doorsteps. All garden areas of the property may be accessed by guests.
As we live on-site, but completely separate from your cottage, we are nearly always available to happily assist in any way we can. We promise we will give you your space and you'll have complete privacy.
The Dandenong Ranges are well known for tranquil forest walks, many beautiful gardens, abundant birdlife, and quaint village shopping.
Within minutes you can be riding the ever-popular Puffing Billy Steam Train, swinging through the treetops at Tree Adventures, walking through Sherbrooke forest watching the Lyrebirds foraging, strolling through the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Gardens, exploring the many forest trails that the area is renowned for including the Kokoda Trail 1000 Steps or getting a little retail therapy in the many crafty and quirky shops of the villages.
There are numerous cafes and restaurants in the area such as King Henry Arts Café which is just around the corner from us - ideal for your morning coffee and cake or perhaps lunch. Alternatively, for a little nostalgia try a Devonshire tea at the famous Miss Marples Tearoom.
There is a bus stop just 100 metres from our gate and the Upper Ferntree Gully railway station just 7 km away. Complimentary pick-up is available from the train station and we can even drop you off at your restaurant or wedding reception centre if you like!
For the safety and comfort of all our guests:
- Candles, smoking, and incense are strictly forbidden inside our cottages and outside if doors or windows are open. A minimum charge of $300 applies for the burning of candles or for smoke contamination.
- No non-paying guests are either allowed on-site or allowed to use the facilities of our cottages without prior arrangement with Clarendon. Cottage must be booked for the number of guests staying.
- We are sorry but out of consideration for other guests, pets cannot be accommodated.
- Hens and bucks or other parties are not permitted. Noise must be kept to an absolute minimum to maintain the tranquility of our site for all guests and neighbours.
- We reserve the right to claim any costs incurred due to damage or out-of-the-ordinary cleaning costs. We would appreciate you washing your dishes.

I enjoy the fantastic views, great cafes and exploring the various trails of the Dandenong Ranges. Jane loves cooking, design and chatting to people. We both work well together as a team in maintaining, cleaning, gardening and hosting. We like doing that little extra for our guests and love to hear feedback on all aspects of their stay. Whilst we like to have a chat, we are careful to not intrude on our guests who love our cottages for the peace, privacy and serenity they provide.
