Alfred's Bush Retreat is located in the stunning Wandiligong Valley, just 5 minutes out of the town of Bright, you will find this gorgeous Miner's Cottage set on one acre. The bush retreat is 200 metres from the 3km bike track that runs along the river into Bright. A great location to explore the high country.
This beautiful retreat is the ideal place to escape your busy life and reconnect with all that nature has to offer. You will feel your stress melt away as you take in the landscape and watch the light fade from the vine covered verandah.
The beautiful property is surrounded by stunning views, abundant birdlife and a peaceful location. You can enjoy watching the hangliders and paragliders from the front deck, relax in the deep soaker tub or cosy up with a book in front of the wood heater.
Or reconnect with nature and go on a breathtaking climb to the top of Mount Feathertop or a lazy stroll along the Ovens River on the Canyon Walk.
The beautiful Kiewa River is close by and a famous river for fly fishing. In summer it's also the perfect spot for swimming, tubing and barbecuing on the Kiewa River banks. The Ovens River and Buckland River are also not too far away.

Bedroom 3 - 2 single beds plus trundle
The main house has 3 bedrooms, an open plan living area with hard-wood timber flooring, an updated kitchen with new stainless steel appliances and filtered water, a brand new bathroom, an internal laundry and an air conditioner in the living/kitchen area. There are Nobo heaters in the living area and all the bedrooms.
Separate to the house is a spacious and comfortable bungalow with its own modern bathroom with shower. It offers a queen bed and two single beds along with an air conditioner and heating, table and chairs, bar fridge, microwave, kettle, crockery and cutlery. Use of the bungalow is an additional $100 per night. The bungalow hasn’t been included in the listing but if you make a request we can add this to the booking price.
Depending on the time of year you visit our mature fruit trees will provide you with nectarines, peaches, plums, apples, olives, figs and chestnuts as well as a lovely summer harvest of raspberries and grapes.
Our kitchen is fully equiped including a large rice cooker, a slow cooker and a microwave. It does not have a dishwasher and we have an electric oven.
