River Cottage is perfect for a romantic weekend or to explore nature in complete privacy. Meander along the river bed through sandstone gorges, listen to the birds sing or just relax on the sunny wide veranda overlooking the shallow sandy river. We offer unique accommodation, hand crafted cottages nestled in open woodlands within a stunning landscape- not your normal B&B.
We are a wildlife sanctuary. The property is surrounded on three sides by the Goulburn River National Park, renown for its spectacular sandstone gorges. However you will not be able to tell where our property ends and the park begins. Delight in the birds from the verandah and the stars at night. Cosy open fires, fresh eggs and produce, exceptional scenery, wonderful bush walks, peace and privacy. There is a surcharge for firewood during the colder months.
You can bring a well behaved dog (max. 2) but they must be under control at all times. We ask you bring a rug and lead and to ensure they do not disturb the wildlife or are left unattended in the cottage. There is an extra charge for dogs ($15/night).
We request guest minimise waste to aid sustainable management of the cottages, please separate recyclables from the tip rubbish (and take away rubbish when possible)
All scraps compostables & food waste to be placed into steel bucket provided. This can be emptied into black compost bin situated in the cottage garden.
Unused food can be left in fridge for chickens.
EV electric car recharge facilities are available but only during daylight hours using a 15 amp plug (and your lead) on the cottages - or book a faster 7kW charge during the day on our Tesla Type 2 charger CCS2 at main house.

We live on the property called Gleniston and built the two stone cottages for our guests in secluded settings. We manage the mainly forested property 220 hectares as a wildlife refuge. I work in natural resource management and have a PhD in hydro-geology. My husband Colin is a furniture maker/craftsman. We love cooking, good food and wine, bush walking and natural areas. We like to share the experience of this special part of the world and make all our guests feel welcome.
